3.5 stars! | This is such a good series starter! If she was going to die, she was going to do it screaming obscenities at this bastard. I do admit the first few chapters were mostly information dump, but once we get past that, the plot starts picking up! I’mya suddenly wakes up with no recollection of how she arrived at the Forbidden Mountains. While running around, a dragon flies directly for her, and this is where she meets Nyro, one of the last few of the dragorai. I’mya is in this specific mountain to sexually pleasure Nyro. It should only be one night, but Nyro cannot stay away from her, even though he desires to. “I will take great pleasure in discovering everything about you as time permits.” I found I’mya to truly be a resilient woman. The way she handled everything Nyro threw at her had me rooting for her. And Nyro... Well, the synopsis does say of “dark romance nature”, so you already know this is no Prince Charming. Even if he wasn’t a Prince Charming, my heart was beating hard for this man! His skills in the bedroom...

I was a bit hesitant buying this book because Zoey Ellis books seemed to be like copy pasted (Myth of Omega series) with different names and some plot changes. But overall just the same. This was refreshing and I am praying the second book will not be the same as the first just a different dragon lair. I love the cover, I am tired of half naked guys on books of this kind. This stands out. Overall I really liked the book. The writing style is not a 100% mine, but the story was great.

My heart strings were tugged and pulled! “You challenged me in ways I had never been challenged—ways I couldn’t be challenged because I didn’t care enough.” The dragon aspect was, in my opinion, so unique and quite enthralling! Some things were introduced that I can’t wait to see them being explored later on. I loved the world-building of the story and how well the author set it up for the rest of the series. This was just the beginning of many things I’m sure are to come and I cannot wait! The second story in this series sure promises to be a great one, after all the minor details given in this first book. Zoey Ellis wrote a great series starter that you truly don’t want to pass up!
