The idea for the book came to me after hearing an old song by Bill Anderson titled, "Where Have all the Heroes Gone", and reading the words of two other songs, "Footsteps of Jesus" by Asa Everett and Mary Slade, and, "I Want to be Just Like You" by Phillips, Craig, and Dean.
