It was a good start, but man it just fell apart towards the end. Shapiro lost control of the story and made me start rolling my eyes.

Just, ugh. It was good and then it was bad. I did like the feeling that research was done for the practice of painting and forgery. That was really interesting. If you want an okay story about paint forgets, then this is it.

Wasted Potential — Interesting plot idea, but the excitement at the end of the book fell flat for me. The detail about art curation and the museum world was well researched and explained to the reader. The main character is usually unlikable, and the narration can be dry at times.

I chose this title for my Book to Art Club, and we created snowflake-skirted paper ballerinas as I thought "tasteful nudes" may be a bit too extra to handle.

I LOVED all the the technical details about painting, forging, etc, but found the overall mystery (which was barely a mystery) not too thrilling. This is very cerebral and internal, and the romance plotline was a complete throw-away for me.
