First of all... I can't believe I put this book on my tbr in 2016 and finally read it in 2023?? I've been missing a lot of fun, huh? Imagine you're stuck in this situation: you had an awful accident only to wake up in a strange questionable city with quiet neighbors but you are prohibited to talk about anything outside the city. Reading this book made me reflect on many things about my life. Every day I always complain, I hate my job, I want to live away from my family, I hate my neighbors. But I wonder if I lived in Wayward Pines without going back to my miserable life, would I be completely happy? This book is well written, I highly appreciate Crouch's writing style which is simple but we still get the 'thrilling' impression the whole story. Even the ending that is made as if it's a happy ending still makes me goosebumps. Is Ethan really happy with the decision he took? Will there be a new breakthrough in the second book? Let's see later
