4 of 5 stars ----- I rarely pick up post apocalyptic books. I think it's because I was intimidated by the genre. Maybe, I still am. But it's quite shocking that I've come to enjoy reading this whole trilogy. In my opinion, this conclusion novel is my favorite among the three. I realized that the more I discover things about these books, the more I got committed to the story. It gets better and better with each book. I was glad for the character development, though I am still not into their complex relationships. I know that they're the last of humanity, but damn, their tangled commitment is not what I think I can handle really well. I really don't like the set up of a messy complicated relationship. Aside from that, I don't know if I just failed to understand or if I somehow missed it, but there's actually lingering questions inside my head. And all those questions are about the suspension thingy. Is there some sort of trigger mechanism for them to get out of it? I mean, obviously, all of them got inside the suspension for them to survive. How are they able to get out of it? Are they aware of how much time they will spend inside of it and somehow set the time themselves? Is there a timer or something that would goes off and would just automatically let them wake up? I don't think I would missed that kind of information or maybe I am just so clueless about this kind of science thing. Maybe I'm just not quite familiar to science fiction to understand enough how those things work. But other than those points, the whole story was actually engaging. It was quick paced and thrilling. I know this trilogy has a TV adaptation, but I haven't watch it yet. I don't know if I ever will. But for me, I still got the The Walking Dead vibe from these books, mostly because of being both post apocalyptic, and I kept hearing the suspenseful music from TWD during the Aberrations scenes. Overall, I highly recommend this book.

Imagine you're rich and your mind went, "Hmm, I have money and I want to save humanity, what should I do?" and make it thriller-science fiction. In the third book you can see everyone's pov. Each chapter is quite short, showing each of the characters perspective while trying to survive from Wayward Pines nightmare. Compared to the other two books, I think this book is the most boring. In my personal opinion, putting everyone perspective is just awful. I enjoyed reading Pines and Wayward but having everyone's thought in The Last Town is too much and overwhelmed for me. The good thing about this book is that Mr. Crouch put the story in cliffhanger. "Seventy thousand years later, Ethan Burke’s eyes slammed open." A sentence that I would never expected appear when reading this book. Another good thing about this book that Mr. Crouch gave too much information about firearms. I don't know much about guns and riffles but after reading this book I may know a thing or two. Overall, I love this trilogy and would love to recommend the book to all my friends

I honestly feel like Blake Crouch couldn’t write a bad book if he tried. The Wayward Pines trilogy is nerve wracking and beautiful all at the same time. Be prepared to end it wanting more, though.

THAT ENDING. That was a particularly sharp epilogue! As for the series as a whole, I think the Wayward Pines trilogy is really one book split into three. But fortunately each installment has its own themes and purpose so it does not suffer. It's also one of the most fast paced thrillers I have read in a while. It never ever lets up! There are a few annoying tropes (oh romance... why must you be so terribly dealt with), but overall this was quite a fun, quick read.

I’ve enjoyed the horror of this entire series. It’s crazy suspenseful

** spoiler alert ** this might not be the most most fuck-women romance i’ve read (but at least the others were supposed to be romance when this is scifi horror … there is nothing scifi or horror about reading about ppl cheating on each other for like 900 pages) but the fact that it was written by a man definitely makes it read worse. (mild spoilers for book one?? but not this one) i still stand by the fact that this plot could have been good on its own (and with anyone but ethan’s lusty little butt as the mc) but oh my god the “women don’t deserve to ever be happy and they should actually be delighted to be with a man that treats them like crap” storyline that actually got more page time than the end-of-the-world shit was just awful. i can officially say that ethan sucks, theresa deserves better, and i big fat do not like the author acting like she should be happy with this man whose entire personality is cheating on her. i hate this book treating him as a hero for doing like one good thing regarding the scifi plot when the whole series has been him doing bad things in the romance plot that is arguably a bigger part of the books, especially this one.

2 stars? I went into this series with some high expectations and this final book was very disappointing to me. Also the ending, much too ambiguous when I’ve been feeling like there was too much going on throughout the series. I really wanted a solid ending that could have been bad or happy. Instead it’s just open-ended. However, I do recommend if you like easy thrillers with a lot of action. Very fast read and easy to get into.

This is the best series I’ve read this year.

Czemuż, ach czemuż mi tutaj Blake'u uczyniłeś jakieś rzewne historie, zamiast to domknąć z dystopijnym pierdolenięciem?

ahh, I'm screaming inside a little bit. how could it end this way?..
