actually did not finish, but i can't write review if i clicked dnf so here i am.

it started good, i like cara. but i was quick to judge, i hoped she wasn't stubborn and naive. she was funny, witty, and her pov makes me happy. moreover, the friendship with olivia. 

like i said, i was quick to judge. cara was stubborn, but it because she sticks to her principles. but the male character? the writer tried really hard to make him witty and likable, it didn't work. i hate him immediately, he irks me. too much talking, too cocky.

i dropped this book immediately because cara said something so degrading about a woman. it turned me off really bad, i immediately dislike her.

           This book was giving me very much “im not like other girls”. Cara listens to rock, watches Lord of the Rings, doesn’t take long in the shower and lifts. So it was so funny whenever the main male character brought those traits up. 

The sex scenes were decent but there were like only three of them. I will give the author a benefit though because the sex scenes lasted an entire chapter which I appreciate. 

Also super cringy though because the two main characters were sending each other memes on ig. They’re like 28. Like excuse me? Im sorry? And the worst part was that the author was describing the memes and there is no way to describe memes in a funny way. Actually im wrong the worst part was that he sent BOB THE BUILDER memes, like who asked for that. Which audience enjoys that? Anywho entertaining none the less.

This is very much a character driven book, there's not much plot at all and I found I missed having another story on the go. This book was like 75% talking 25% thinking 0% plot. The occasional chapter from William felt choppy, although I did appreciate his POV. Spice was disappointing.

Ooh lala did I love this? Yes I did. Do be aware that this is very much of a character driven story so there isn’t much of a heavy plot to it. Also because it’s the first book in a series, I’m quite sure it’s a lot more of an introduction as the story progresses along the series. Nevertheless, it was a good book. 

Cara. I LOVE CARA. I saw so much of myself in her to the point that when I’m reading about it from an outsider’s perspective, Cara seems quite like a headstrong and pessimistic woman. She is humorous, character driven, intelligent and truthfully, quite wonderful. The way she thought was intriguing, the way she dealt with things , a lot more intriguing, and I love the way she brought up her issues with William. 

William. Man, I kind of despised this man. I love a intelligent, strategical, calculative & persuasive man BUT THIS MAN WAS CRAZY. Look at times, I thought he was annoying and persuasive and he quite literally just did not respect Cara’s wishes (type A alpha, really). Overall though, William is quite interesting, but damn he’s obsessive. Although, he does admit his mistakes when pointed out, he apologises. Bonus points for u Will. 

Good read.

Story was unique, but I couldn’t stand the main character - although I do understand the author wrote the characters to be imperfect and challenging. I liked it enough to order the second book though! It’s a good read for spare time and fairly affordable for kindle!

This books was something I wasn’t expecting when it came to the trope of “best friends brother”. I liked how Cara and Will struggled when it came to their love story. But there were times where Will was CRINGE at times when it came to his want/possessiveness over Cara. The ending was nice and makes me want to read the rest of the series. But the fact that Cara and Will were more realistic than some other romance books I’ve read is a nice touch.

Really enjoyed this story!
Considering my personal development, while reading some scenes I realized I was judging the characters' choices against my set of beliefs and values. When this happened, I allowed some time to think about this; the book helped me reflect as to why I did that, and how to improve this, how to begin to understand what others do without judging them (which, in hindsight, it is something we all should do… constantly).
Both MC have interesting and magnetic personalities that make you want to learn more about each of them, as individuals and as a couple. Cara's conviction, rationality and honesty is refreshing for a female lead who stands for what she wants and powers through; finding the balance between one's thoughts and feelings it is never easy, and I think the author makes a great effort to explore this in Cara's journey. William's bluntness and raw honesty makes the banter between them sooooo appealing… I found myself wishing there were more dialogues between them. 
But, the author rewarded  the reader with very 🔥🔥🔥 scenes to enjoy instead. 
It was an easy read, and I especially enjoyed the dual POV; would have enjoyed more William chapters, though. 

Looking forward to the second book!

I loved how “mature” this is. Their love was beautiful, chemistry was out if this world. MC knew what she wanted and was pretty firm about it and I love that. However, she did annoy me a bit but overall it was a good book even though it doesn’t need a sequel 🙄

This book is excruciatingly slow in all the right ways. Seeing things unfold and watching the MC be so stubborn was so frustrating to read, but in a way that made me want to keep reading.

Things continue to unfold and it just gets more and more intense.

I also adored the witty and sarcastic banter between our love interests. It was so fun to read and I saw myself in the characters.

I’m wondering how the next book will be considering the fact that there weren’t many loose ends…

Cara and Will’s story is one of the messiest I’ve ever read. Cara was infuriating—probably because of how little I relate to her. That being said, I didn’t put the book down once while reading. I guess I was rooting for Will to prevail so much that I was able to withstand all the frustrations. 

The ending is also quite abrupt, and I'm torn between thinking there was or wasn't enough resolution or satisfaction for the frustration to be worth it or not. However, I won't be on the edge of my seat while waiting for the sequel.
