
Cyrano de Bergerac A New Version of Edmond Rostand's 'heroic Comedy'
Esteemed Irish poet DEREK MAHON has translated a number of plays, including Moliere's "The School for Wives and Racine's "Phaedra. Here he takes on Rostand's Cyrano, poet and swordsman, anxious, yet fearful, to declare his love for Roxanne. This play has been given a romantic and magical touch by Mahon. The present version was commissioned by the National Theatre, London.
