Did you know that Juliana Fiori is Italian? And that, consequently, she is fiery? If you didn't, this book will tell you this OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Just once I'd like to read a Regency where there's an Italian character who is not a Fiery Italian(tm). Is that really too much to ask? Not as good as the first two books in this series, although it does pick up by the end.

Juliana and Simon are the best couple in this series. Probably one of the best by Sarah MacLean. The uptight Duke and the free Miss Fiori go on and on with their banter and pushinbg one another. She pokes him and he responds. It so good. They spend the entire book bikering, even when they start realizing their feelings for each other. Between scands, the feel that the other deserves better and London society filled with rules they also have to deal with eachother stubbornness. It's really good :)

*4.5* Love this series!!

This one lured me into thinking it would be fun but then it wasn’t. Wish we got more couple moments that wasn’t them talking about how they couldn’t be together or hot they were for each other. It’s more of a 2.5 stars read but I rated it up just because I rated the second book the same and I barely remember that story.

O meu favorito dos três, com um enredo mais elaborado e personagens melhor construídas.

Not as good as first two. You couldn't tell H/h were "in love"

Juliana is no wallflower; she's the hot-headed Italian half-sister of the St. John twins. Rocked by scandal due to her parentage and her temper, she is no way a proper prospect for the VERY proper Duke of Leighton. Despite their initial attraction, the Duke tries to resist Juliana but of course, sometimes scandal is worth the risk. You can see the seeds to the darker Rules of Scoundrels series, with many of those characters making an appearance. Lots of tempestuous behavior and so super steamy. 2020 re-read for #SummerofSarahMaclean 9 Rules and Eleven Scandals are my favorites of this particular series, and that stood the test of time. Loved getting glimpses of some of my future favs (Georgiana!!) but picked up on some fat-phobic comments made by Juliana this read. The ache Juliana feels about being unloveable and unwanted is so poignant on the page, and I just wanted to throttle Simon for being so cold and callous. It takes him a while to figure out his bullshit but I'm glad he does because Juliana deserves her HEA.. He's not one of my favorite heroes, but this is still a great story to read, I glommed it all up today in one sitting.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads . Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart was SUCH a great book! I initially had this book as a four star read, but after not being to get it out of my brain since I finished, I decided to bump it to five stars. There were times when it absolutely ripped my heart from my chest, but it put me back together in the end. But you should definitely prepare for an emotional roller coaster with this one! The Duke of Leighton and Juliana gave me all the forbidden love and sexual tension I could handle with this story. Juliana was awesome. She was sassy and didn't really care what others though of her, which was a huge no-no in those days, obviously. Simon was her exact opposite. He was bound by duty and willing to sacrifice his own happiness to marry a "suitable" woman to help smooth over the rough parts of his family's reputation. It was their differences that made their chemistry so fiery and kept me hooked from the very start. In a departure from most historical romance I've read, Juliana is the one who is pursuing Simon and he's the one trying to stay away. I loved the shift in dynamic this brought to the story. It so worked. This book was full of passion and forbidden love/lust, feels and emotions (for me and the characters) and swoon-worthy romance. I wasn't sure my heart could take all of it, because there were times that were difficult to read, but it left me with a big smile on my face when it was all said and done. As sad as I am to say goodbye to this series, I'm thrilled it kinda rolls over into The Rules of Scoundrels. I can't wait to devour all of those – AND FINALLY get Georgiana's story. It's gonna be a good one!
