I'd read that this second book in the series was better than the first. I didn't really think so. Now we know all the characters. Angel is finding her way to self-improvement via zombiehood. There's a mystery, and she solves it. It was fine. 

But I realized that the author has taken some of the attributes you normally see in vampires (strength, speed, etc) and just turned the cause from vampire (NEEDS BLOOD!!!!) to zombie. (NEEDS BRAIIIINSS!!!) When I realized this, I was really disappointed. That's largely because I HATE vampire stories with the burning heat of a thousand fiery suns. Realizing these are just vampire stories in other clothes probably means I may drop the series now. Bummer.

Even though Angel is starting to get used to her new "life" as a zombie, she can't escape her felonious past. She runs into her probation officer, and he reminds her that getting her GED is part of her probation. Meanwhile, she's starting to wonder if her boyfriend's uncle is the head of the Zombie Mafia. Thinking things can't get worse, someone holds her up and steals a body on her watch. Just when she feels like she's getting her act together, things spiral out of control. I am loving this series! I think this book was even better than the first one.

As a Med-Student I really appreciate all the medical stuff. 
We finally get some explanationfor how Zombies work and I really liked this concept. Also the dark humor is pretty on point for a coroner. Except the Zombie part I find every thing pretty realistic and not just sloppy. You can see that Diana Rowland worked as a morgue assistant and knows what she is writing about. 
I enjoyed this book a litlle less then the first one, but still liked ist really much. I would definitely recommand to continue this series!

Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues picks up right why My Life as a White Trash Zombie stopped. There is a bit of refreshing here and there to re-familiarize the reader with the storyline. In this addition we get zombie hunters, the zombie mafia and a secret lab. The action continues to grow and Angel continues to become more self-confident in her life as a zombie. While she is trying to make a life and future for herself, her past catches up to her and her prior criminal past puts some kinks into her day to day life. 

I enjoyed book 2 in this series. Angel is a very likable character. Her goal is for a better life and she works hard to achieve it. She is liked by most of the other characters and is surprised by how it feels to have friends and people that care about what happens to her. 

I also love the Audible narration for this series. Alison McLemore is an amazing narrator and she gives every character depth and personality. You can hear the emotions that the characters are feeling in her narration. She also gives Angel the perfect southern white trash accent without it sounding forced or fake. 

All in all, this is a great addition to the series and I am excited to read book 3.
