this book has taken a darker-than-expected turn. but it fits with amy’s character and i definitely sympathize with her state of mind here. the chance to be free, not self-imposed and extremely traumatic, but the choice to embrace death anyways… followed by the sadness of that choice being taken away by someone she doesn’t like…

He was crouched behind her chair, foolishly trying to rescue her from what she had already embraced. Taking away what she truly wanted just when she had finally found it. Pretending that she could get out of her chair. Telling her lies.
