The Little Lady Agency was a fun, light read overall, but I was disappointed in the ending. I did not feel that the romance angle was genuine. And too many things were left open ended. (view spoiler)[I did not like Jonathan at all. Not only was there zero swoon factor, his character seemed like a disagreeable jerk. Then you add that he is technically still married until the very end of the book. Pardon me for not buying the tortured, spurned married man who is "getting divorced." Yeah, heard that before. I really wanted Melissa to end up with Nelson. (hide spoiler)] I was somewhat mollified to realize that this is the first in the series, so the those things left untied probably continue in the sequel's storyline. However, those loose ends felt sloppy rather than a deliberate set up for the sequel. So even though I enjoyed most of the story, I was strongly disappointed in the ending. It just felt rushed and forced hence the low rating.

I am really surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! I wasn't anticipating it to be as good as it was. I, however, was wrong. I adored Melissa/Honey, Nelson and Jonathan (at least most of the time) so the story really grabbed me. The characters were fantastic, the plot was excellent... I couldn't put the book down. Excellent read! I can't wait to read the sequel!

1/26/11: I needed to re-read this. Loved it every bit as much the second time around!
