3⭐️ for me. I enjoyed reading some back story on the Fairy Tail main story. I had quite the issue with the sexual portrayal of the 13 year old girls and felt the pacing was very off. Although the former isn’t redeemable as the book is for ages 13 and up, the latter was clarified in the interview with the author included in the last pages. This gave some more context to the story and pointed out some nifty clues I’d missed myself. Overall it was a nice quick read that got me a little more invested with the Fairy Tail books.

While this seems pretty manga trope heavy to me, I found this first volume to be a lot of fun. You've got your boy genius with no smarts whatsoever, cute sidekicks, and a girl who gets mad when the main male lead does or says something stupid. Honestly, that aspect of the characters being a little bit cookie cutter can get a little old, but the world and the guild of magicians seems like a lot of fun to me.

Este tomo recopilatorio nos cuenta como se fundó el gremio de Fairy Tail y los origenes de Mavis, su fundadora. Un tomo interesante, divertido y entrañable a la vez. Se puede leer incluso si no has leido la historia principal.

This was my introduction to manga. The book has an interesting premise with magic guilds where wizards of different kinds work together. Only this isn’t explored much beyond the fairy tail guild. The main female character is honestly a bit ditzy and unnecessarily sexualised (the latter goes for all female characters, idk if this is a manga theme bc i’m not here for it). Some scenes fee unfinished while the story hops to the next one, overall I could do with a bit more backstory and world-building. Also the talking cat does not get enough picture time - might pick up the second one to see if this builds, but open to better manga recommendations.

So I'm cheating. Sue me.

Not my favorite arc of the entire manga series but still enjoyable

Tower of Heaven or whatever the name of this story arc is, its not my favorite. Gotta admit.

To be honest, this isn't my favorite arc but Fairy Tail is Fairy Tail.

Mangas are just a general good read if you want to finish something quickly and feel accomplished.

Siegrain tries to get the Magic Council to fire a weapon that will wipe out the tower of Erza's childhood friend Jellal, killing everyone within it--including the heroes from Fairy Tail. Original.
