** spoiler alert ** I sat and stewed on this review for a few days and I’ve come to some conclusions. I could nitpick if I really wanted to but for some reason, even with some things I wasn’t a fan of, I just enjoyed the hell out of this book. I’m intrigued by all 7 brothers and can’t wait for all of their books to come out. -my main and only true complaint is the fact that there’s a fair amount of telling, not showing. It’s mostly used when describing the brothers attributes that relate to their respective sins. That’s the only time I really felt I was being told something instead of shown, but it truly didn’t bother me. I was able to get past it to enjoy this one! -fated mates gets me every time. I just love it. This isn’t a “traditional” fated mates book, but the trope is still discussed enough that I think it counts! There is marking of mates through biting in here. I’m here for it. -the writing is somewhat……juvenile? Not in a bad way! I enjoy writing that doesn’t try to be flowery or profound on occasion. It can come off so pretentious if it’s not done well. I really appreciated the simplicity of the storyline. Sometimes I like a good mindfuck/plot twist, but sometimes I’m just in the mood for MC’s meet, like each other, fall in love, plot conflict, plot resolution (without all the complicated interwoven hints and secrets). -I would consider this grumpy/sunshine. Simon is warm and kind and sweet. Galen is the literal embodiment of wrath. What more do I need to say. I just really enjoyed this. This book just scratched my brain the right way. I cannot explain it. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for Castor when it comes out! TW/CW: mentions of rape (not seen on page), death of a loved one, grieving, mild violence, body image issues
