We follow the Kennedy household through the joys and struggles of an unconventional family. The central protagonist Lila is an author who wrote a successful book about keeping a marriage alive before her husband ironically left her for a younger woman. Her two daughters, Celie, a volatile teenager, and Violet, an energetic nine-year-old, try to adapt to the new living conditions with Lila’s stepdad, Bill, also moving in following the death of his wife.
