I found myself in need of some more humorous reading, so I continued on with the Aisling Grey series. 

In Fire Me Up, Aisling tries to juggle her job and her newfound responsibilities as a guardian. This time it lands her in Budapest both to deliver an artifact and to attend an otherworldly conference. 

The plot does have similarities to the first book, You Slay Me. So not surprisingly, Aisling quickly ends up over her head. Despite the similarities in the plot, there were several hilarious and memorable new characters introduced. Incubi? Hilarious! That was what made this book particularly fun. I definitely laughed out loud quite a few times.

I do have mixed feelings about the ending. (view spoiler)[Like the overall plot, the ending is very similar to that of the first book. I thought that Aisling hugely overreacted and was very childish towards Drake who was making sacrifices for the good of his people. Though unfortunately in doing so he was domineering and discourteous towards Aisling. So that was annoying. On the other hand, despite disagreeing with the reasoning that led her leave, I do applaud her sticking to her guns. In her mind, Drake's actions were a betrayal and a deal-breaker. So she stood up for that, and chose to follow her own dreams rather than mindless follow a man around just for the steamy sex (a very common occurrence in today's romances). I have no doubt they'll get back together in the end though. There are still a couple of books to go, so we shall see. (hide spoiler)] 

But Jim the demon dog is still my favorite character in this series!
