Loren Hale has emerged from the kitchen, the door swinging shut behind him. Like always, he looks like he wants to annihilate me.

“I’m just waiting for Xander, Mr. Hale.” I take my phone out of my back pocket, and by the twitch of his jaw, I sense Mr. Hale pisses him off about as much as sir.

No one said I’m good with parents, but honestly, I think parents just suck more around me. It’s a them thing. Has to be. ‘Cause I think I’m outstanding. Classy. Well, my type of classy. 

“Did you like it?” I wonder, zipping my backpack closed. I’ve really refrained from asking that question to Charlie. I haven’t wanted the answer. I don’t know what’s changed.

Maybe the fact that I want some positive assurance after seeing all his corrections.

He clicks something on his phone, half-paying attention to me. “It was okay.”

“Lil, turn around. We forgot our kids. We should dump the imposters.” He mimes opening the locked door.

I laugh with Xander. Kinney tries to maintain a cool face, but her lips upturn too.

“They’re all ours, Lo,” our mom says proudly.

I wouldn’t want to be anyone else’s but theirs. 

Dad does a double-take at me, his arm dropping off Mom. “I’m sorry—did Pixie just say she likes evil Cyclops?”

“Luna,” I smile while slurping, sort of biting the straw.

His smile is softer. “Ah, that Luna. I remember.” He turns forward to wipe up hot sauce off his fingers. “She is a good daughter.” He says it like it’s ancient fact from Tatooine. The earnestness in his voice fills my heart tenfold.

“And the best writer,” Mom smiles over at him. She’s always asking which of my fics she should read, and I’ll send her links to some on Fictitious. Like all my family and security, she knows my username, so she could easily find all my stories. Even the smutty ones. But she wants to give me space in case I want to keep my writing private from them, and I appreciate that too.

I love my parents more than humanly possible.

In fact, I add every single person sitting at that table. I compose the text.

I want to say that he is the best thing to sleep to. Because his arms are magic, and in them, slumber finally takes us away.

As we head back, I ask, “If it wasn’t to murder me, why’d you bring me out here?”

He’s quiet for a second, focusing on his breathing, I think. Then he says, “For the view.”

fr tho idk if i should do pros or cons first. let’s start w everything that i can immediately remember that went wrong.

the worst thing i can remember is little miss luna doing the “oa dance” when that girl was making fun of her. the very same dance that, while yes is used to connect the ppl in the show to eo, also parallels the school shooting scene that happens at the end of season one. now they may say that the dance references other scenes, however having donnelly and the other cobalt (idr) come up right after to help her, directly parallels the lunch room school shooter. i found this triggering honestly and extremely embarrassing. like it is an extremely significant scene and to have this included knowing the current climate of school shootings was disgusting in my opinion. should be removed bc it does nothing for her character or the scene tbh.

second. pls give up harry potter like good lord. how the fuck are u gonna have GAY characters cont talk about harry potter knowing jkr hates the lgbt community. like be serious u do not need to include it, there are so many other things u could do. idgaf if u don’t plan on changing it in ur old books but pls stop adding it or making it a characters core identity. it is also extremely embarrassing like… it cannot be that serious. it’s 2022… or 2040 in ur tl…

so sorry to luna but her character wasn’t relatable… very cringe… very corn… like the corn was pulled out and thrown several times. i wanted to like her and she wasn’t like /that/ annoying but the second hand embarrassment i received. it’s almost camp in an unserious way, everything about her problems is thrown out of proportion it’s hard to take her seriously so i’ll give her that… idk where y’all r going w her character and idk how it can be dragged out for another two books. tbh if i see y’all hating sulli and loving luna… like babes they’re two peas in a very odd pod. they share the weird gene.

don’t ask me about the romance. it was very slow burn. mutual pinning. idk but it was nice to see donnelly pov from time to time. he kinda carried it for me,, really surprised how much i ended up liking his character.

now for the stars of the show. miss kannika kitsuwon and joana oliveira my loves. mwah mwah mwahhhhh!!!! they came and served in whatever scene they showed up in!!!!

frogquinn interactions oh how i prayed for times like these. like if U know me u know i’ve been headlining frogquinn cheating trope since day one. i love them smmm like that’s a real couple. kbr don’t know the potential they have right there, like pls get an editor and trust me this could be a hit. joana AHHHHHHH babe i loveeee uuuu god bless fr. the slight beckettjo mention and then the beckettleo mention. oh trust me we are getting all three. like this is jeskarma! like i haven’t lost!! AND WAIT ! there’s more!!! um… 3.5 liek pls get a real editor bc while this bc happened and is obviously setting up the next two books. it feels like too much is being set up and not enough is currently happening 🤷 idk for me lunelly didn’t really shine that much, like compared to the other books, the side couples in this one made a huge impact for me. pls stop making luna weird her only personality trait like, ppl literally hated sulli for that and ik there must be more to them.

Tal vez no sea el mejor libro de la serie hasta el momento pero la verdad es que después de lo mal que la pasé con los libros de Sulli este lo disfrute más 

Sabía que no sería nada fácil para ellos estar juntos pero AAAAAA amo a Loren y entiendo que quiera proteger a Luna pero me estreso muchísimo que él siempre estuviera en el medio y fuera el mayor factor para que ellos no estuvieran juntos. Luna tenía miedo de lo que el podría hacerle a Donnelly y Donnelly tenía miedo de arruinar su relación de padre e hija😭

Tampoco me gustó la manera en la que Lo trata a Donnelly siendo que el es quien debería de ser un poco más comprensivo con él, Loren sabe lo que es tener una adicción y tener un padre adicto así que si, pudo ser más empático con Donnelly y no hablarle mal a la primera oportunidad que tuviera🙃
Aunque al final tuvo un pequeño cambio pero eso no cambia lo duro que fue con el

Luna y Donnelly por otro lado me gustaron mucho, leer su amistad y lo mucho que se complementan fue lindo, aunque no mentiré la mayor parte del tiempo sufrí porque realmente la pasaban mal al no estar juntos😭

Me gustó leer un poco sobre Donnelly y su pasado aunque admito que mi corazón sufría por el pequeño Donnelly, otra cosa que me gustó leer fue su POV sobre Farrow, realmente amo lo mucho que el ama a Farrow y lo agradecido que está con el y sé que el sentimiento es mutuo, realmente tienen una amistad muy linda🤧

Luna me parece un personaje tan genial, es muy diferente a los otros de la serie ya que tiene una personalidad muy única y la amo mucho de verdad, con ella mi corazón también sufrió por lo mucho que la molestan por tener gustos e intereses distintos, al final cuando se filtro su identidad realmente la pasé mal por ella

Cosas que amé:

•Leer el gran progreso que ha tenido Xander, aún tiene sus días malos pero creo que ahora está en un mejor lugar y lo shippeo con Easton
•La relación que tienen Donnelly y Xander, él es realmente muy bueno para Xander, aparte se nota que lo quiere mucho por favor Donnelly aprendió a hablar un idioma elfo solo por él 🤧 y aún así Lo piensa que es mala influencia
•Insisto con Winona y Jesse veo que podrían tener algo en el futuro 👀
•Frog es una reina y es la mejor guardaespaldas que Luna pudo tener

El final es un poco agridulce y definitivamente estaré esperando el próximo libro con muchas ansias y un poco de miedo por los Donnelly.

           i wanted to rate this 5 stars so bad but i just can’t 😭 

i love lunelly and they did have so many cute moments but there were so many cringe moments that turned me off from reading. 

⭐️ i adore luna in all her supernova and space babe glory but there were so many other ways to show that she is secure in herself. the cafe scene just felt so out of place and unnecessary, but at least the lunelly moment after was cute. also i felt like there wasn’t that much going on plotwise.

⭐️i wanted a fiery loren hale and we lowkey didn’t get that. also wtf is it with donnelly’s relatives coming out of the woodworks like how many of them are there??? and i get that donnelly didn’t want anyone’s help in paying off scottie but like come on just take the help man!! farrow and moffy are dripping in money and they would be willing to pay for THEIR baby so i don’t understand why donnelly is still paying most of his paycheck.

i still love them so much but a part of me just wanted them to have more drama in getting in a relationship also loving the xander content :))
