I‘m not sure how to rate this book. After the first 50 pages, I was seriously contemplating to stop reading, because I felt that I somehow couldn’t stomach the gore porn anymore. Gladly, I pushed through. The bizarre involuntary revenge trip the protagonist undertakes in the second half of the book was one of the most gripping and entertaining things I‘ve read. The underlying criticism of bigoted religious fanatics seeping through the whole story is just the cherry on top.
