Read for my 'Acceptable' N.E.W.T in Care of Magical Creatures 2019 #magicalreadathon. Prompt - Read a book that starts with an 'A'. Career choice - Ministry of Magic, Department of Mysteries Worker. Contains both Alice in Wonderland and Though the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. Even at 25, every time I stumble across a rabbit hole in the woods it always takes me back to the thought of Wonderland.

Virginia Woolf wrote the following words to describe Lewis Carroll and his writing in her essay titled "Lewis Carroll": 

"But since childhood remained in him entire, he could do what no one else had ever been able to do - he could return to that world; he could re-create it, so that we too become children again. ... It is for this reason that the two Alices are not books for children; they are the only books in which we become children. President Wilson, Queen Victoria, The Times leader writer, the late Lord Salisbury - it does not matter how old, how important, or how insignificant you are, you become a child again. To become a child is to be very literal; to find everything so strange that nothing is surprising; to be heartless, to be ruthless, yet to be passionate that a snub or shadow drapes the world in gloom. It is to be Alice in Wonderland. It is also to be Alice Through the Looking Glass. It is to see the world upside down."
