Now she does the books for the Gentleman's club, she is also taking children off of the streets and placing them in a safe environment, most of them working for a devil of a man Sykes, who is ruthless with those that defy him. Knowing what these children have to go through, she builds a home for these children, where they have food, a roof over their heads, education and a loving and safe environment. So at Lucian and Catherine's wedding, she meets Sterling Mabry, the Duke of Greystone, who has her senses going off the wire, and sensations that she never thought she would ever be able to feel. Sterling Mabry, after returning home and assuming his position and taking responsibility, is all he see's, knowing he will never find the happiness his sister Catherine has found. But when he see's the beautiful Frannie Darling, who stirs up feelings inside of him that he never thought he would feel, but knows all he can offer her is a position in his bed. But never knowing that it was about to take him on a ride he never expected to enjoy, and to find a tender love that would brighten his bleak day to day life.

Surrender to the Devil by Lorraine Heath is the third installment in the Scoundrels of St James series. I truly loved reading Frannie's story, who is one of my favorites out of all the Feagan Children. Frannie, after one horrible night having her innocence taken away, finds healing after years, but her Feagan brothers and protectors have never forgotten, especially when she meets Sterling. But despite all their efforts, she finds herself falling for this handsome Duke, yet knowing she can never have him in the long term sense. Sterling at first seems cold and only holds feelings for his sister, caring for no one else. But after time passes, Frannie finds Sterling's inner character, who does care, especially about her, despite the way he attempts to hide it from her. But their tryst turns from all about to lust from a whole lot more than either of them expected to find. This was truly a remarkable love story, and Frannie and Sterling's story was sensational and had a emotional side to it, that left me fully satiated at the end. The plot was engaging, and the character came alive, with a heated passion that will surely heat up your windows. This was such a wonderful romance, and Lorraine Heath has done it again with Surrender to the Devil!

This book is about Frannie and Sterling (Catherine's brother) and as much as I loved Frannie, Sterling just wasn't for me. I couldn't get over his pride and inability to share with Frannie his struggles until nearly the end which made me not like this one as much as I thought I would. Not only that but Sterling made me mad in Catherine's book with how he left her alone to deal with everything she was after he had already been back in London for months. This is all personal preference though, I know others that absolutely adore Sterling and this book! This is still a wonderful book (thanks to Frannie) it just was not my favorite in the series.

4.5! I loved this one a smidge more than the book before it. Probably my favorite couple of the series so far. I thought the heroine would be paired with one of the guys from the gang, so it was interesting to find out this was not the case. I think it worked out well!

On an unrelated note, these HR titles never seem to have any correlation with the actual books lol.

Uma receita simples que rende e conquista qualquer romântica ou mulher que precise de “espairecer” as leituras ou esquecer o cansaço do dia. Leituras femininas por excelências, estes romances históricos têm dezenas de autoras, umas rainhas, outras principiantes, umas mais originais, outras nem por isso, que através de sonhos e fantasias criam histórias que fazem suspirar e acabar com um sorriso na cara.
Lorraine Heath ainda não foi traduzida no nosso país mas é uma dessas senhoras que têm vendido sonhos em forma de bestsellers, fazendo parte de várias listas de autores lá fora. Através desta série explora uma Londres que é ponto de excelência neste tipo de livro e, para além da alta sociedade, dá-nos uma visão daqueles que nem sempre estiveram no topo mas que conseguiram lá chegar. 
Foi por puro acaso que esta autora me veio parar às mãos e ainda não consegui parar de agradecer esta descoberta. Com os ingredientes habituais para nos fazer “brilhar os olhinhos”, poderia se dizer que Heath já tinha sucesso garantido sem se esforçar muito mas, com umas quantas manobras, Heath consegue diferenciar-se de algumas escritoras deste género que conheço e consegue criar não só uma história de fazer bater o coração como nos dá mais umas pepitas deliciosas que adoçam ainda mais o enredo.
Para além do típico par romântico, da sua descoberta, relação e expoente máximo, temos uma aventura pelo submundo londrino que é, ao mesmo tempo, uma pequena lição acerca de alguns daqueles que faziam parte desse mesmo submundo, criando um enredo mais denso que se passa em cenários um pouco diferentes dos salões de baile. Entrelaçando ambos os momentos com histórias secundárias, a escritora concede-nos detalhes deliciosos como a entrada de Charles Dickens num dos momentos que, apesar de curta, acho que foi um momento alto do livro, e outros pormenores mais históricos.
Quanto à relação amorosa, gostei da forma como Heath a retratou. Sem muitas pressas, tirando quando eles se conhecem, foi uma relação até bem assente na terra e que teve oportunidades de dinâmica entre o casal, o conhecimento que eles começam a ter um do outro, momentos divertidos e românticos que proporcionaram uma leitura bem mais activa da típica fórmula destes livros.
Para melhorar o cenário, temos personagens bem reais, com acções e pensamentos que conseguimos compreender, com problemas e medos que nos assolam a todos. Numa miríade de personalidades, conhecemos os restantes protagonistas da saga e conseguimos entender as suas ligações. Com primazia para sentimentos como fraternidade, amizade, lealdade, honra e orgulho, aos poucos vamos deslindando as relações entre eles e sentimo-nos mais próximos destas personagens que tiveram a sorte e a ambição para mudar o rumo à sua vida. 
A dar um toque especial, a forma como a escritora escreve agarra-nos e consegue transmitir-nos, de um forma hábil e segura, as emoções e a intensidade de cada parágrafo. Simples, sem grandes subterfúgios e com uma linguagem que todos possamos discernir, esta é uma escrita que agrada a todos.
Espero, muito sinceramente, que um dia esta senhora seja traduzida para que aquelas que gostam deste tipo de leitura a possam apreciar tanto como eu apreciei. Para quem a língua não é um obstáculo, experimentem porque isso ainda não custa nada.
