Strange Heaven
Bridget Murphy, almost eighteen, has had her baby, given it up for adoption, and landed in the children's psych ward. At Christmas, her Uncle Albert springs her from the hospital and takes her home to Cape Breton. There, her grandmother raves and prays and bangs the wall with her bedpan, her father punctuates his tirades with wild profanity, and her mother struggles to keep order. In this "strange heaven, " Bridget's apathy lifts and her spirits begin to soar. Copyright © Libri GmbH. All rights reserved.
