Shakespeare and Co Year of Reading - December pick This series of musings, chats and pictures strung together into 'what we call a book, Jones' was the reading equivalent of easy listening, which is sometimes exactly what you need from a book. I probably would have enjoyed this more if I were a Hockney fangirl, but it's interesting enough if you're into the arts in general and the visual arts in particular.

Hockney has not been concerned to cultivate a 'signature style, reflecting when people remark that his latest work does not look like a Hockney that it will' (he's right about that). But in some other ways, he doesn't vary much.
