Sirius Black came into the world with a bang.

“Does my brother know?” he asks finally, Slughorn opens his mouth but before the words make it out, the sound of something being broken joins his mother’s cries. Glass maybe? Whatever it is, it shatters. The echoes of tiny pieces hitting the stone floor lingering in the air. 

Regulus gives Slughorn a grim smile. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

I have the feeling this will make me cry like crazy

Regulus gives him a small smile. A shrug. “Of course. We’re brothers. We’ll have each others’ backs, always.”

Sirius gives him a curt nod. “Always,” he agrees.

Regulus is simultaneously one of the most and least important people in the kingdom.

“Your wish is my command,” he makes a whole show of it, sinking down to his knees. He doesn’t ever drop his head though, holding Regulus’s eyes the whole time. Several seconds pass where none of them speak. The tension finally broken when the man on the floor smirks. “Does this please you, sir?”

Something stirs in the pit of Regulus’s stomach but he pays it no mind. Glaring down at the man below him. “Nothing about you pleases me Potter.”

"Where is the king?" Regulus gets to his feet. Because no one keeps him from his brother. No one. If he has to walk through a battlefield to get to him he will. "Answer me!"

But he's my everything, you understand? He's my everything."

Potter gives him a quizzical look, tilting his head to the side. "You have a brother? You should have said something! I'd love to meet him."

"Zabini," Regulus says to the guard still standing behind him. He doesn't take his eyes off of Potter.

"Get the shackles." He watches as Potter's eyes dart to the guard and then back again, just the hint of nervousness now. "I want him chained to the wall. And Zabini?"

There is the tiniest flicker of Regulus's mouth that might just be mistaken for a smirk. "Gag him."

Liking her is something new but I kinda like it and she is on to something here

"I'm mixing samples," she goes on. Holding the vial up in front of her face again and squinting at it. "Different blood, from different people. The first one separated like this, like bad milk. The second one was fine, perfectly smooth. And now, this third time..."

"What makes you so sure then? I mean, how do you know?" how do you know when I don't?

"Because he would have taken you with him."

Regulus's breath stutters in his chest. His brother's voice suddenly loud in his head.
