Book #70 Read in 2014
Hexed by Michelle Krys (YA)

This is the first book in a young adult paranormal series. Indigo is a junior in high school, a cheerleader and one of the popular crowd. Her mother has always been a little odd, calling herself a witch, and she owns a Wiccan shop. But the witch part throws itself into Indie's life full force when bad guys kidnap her mother and want Indie to unlock a binding spell on the witch bible that her family has protected for ages. With help from hunky warlock Bishop and her childhood friend Paige, Indie battles the bad guys to save the family Bible.

This book was a good, quick read. It had good elements of action, romance, humor and paranormal creatures. The characters are intelligent and brave. I will keep an eye out for book #2.

I received a copy of this book from the Amazon Vine program in exchange for a honest review.

well, I've read some of the one star reviews, and I understand why people don't like the book, it's just that these things don't bother me much. Yes, the characters are not the smartest, the story is simple, but I didn't expect more from Hexed. I just didn't take it seriously. kept the ebook version on my phone, and read it when I was bored on rides. It was OK as a one-time read...

The perfect scary-with-romance read after you've binged Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, HEXED is about a teen witch with a shadowy future . . . it's Bring it On meets The Craft in a spellbinding series debut. Indie Blackwood is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend. On the surface, her life looks perfect. But when a guy dies right before her eyes and an ancient family Bible is stolen, Indie's world spirals into darkness. Turns out, Indie has a destiny. And it involves much more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn't get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that's seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, the hot warlock who has an uncanny knowledge of everything that matters, she's a witch too. Indie is about to uncover the many dark truths about her life—and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid. Want more HEXED? Don't miss the next HEXED book, CHARMED. *** "A perfect mix of action, romance, and humor - HEXED kept me riveted until the very last page!"—Amy Tintera, New York Times bestselling author of the RUINED trilogy “Seriously fun, deliciously enjoyable.”—The Huffington Post "Fast-paced, with sizzling tension!"—Victoria Scott, author of Fire & Flood "Wicked fun!"—Amy Plum, author of the DIE FOR ME series

Opinião do blogue Chaise Longue: http://girlinchaiselongue.blogspot.pt...

This book was amazing!!!

I haven't had a good experience with Witch series and this has been an exception. It was really good and once you started to ask questions, I felt like the author would answer them a few paragraphs ahead.

Obviously, I know there are some unanswered questions, since this is a series but I have hope that in her second book, we will find out more.

This book had laughter and sadness and OMG moments. Plus I love the names of the characters.

I'm happy the author didn't really develop Indigo into her full powers in the book. I want to grow with her throughout the series.

Beautiful book.

HEXED is the first book in the Witch Hunter's duology. Indigo Blackwood has lived her life as a normal teenage girl, only having to worry about high school drama and her mom, who has The Black Cat, a witch store. Everything changes for Indie one night when she experiences a death of a stranger and the next day is being interrogated by sorcerers, who are the witches enemies. Want to know more? Read the book!

I expected more witchy stuff in this book but that's okay! The story stayed intense and intriguing until the end. There was never a dull moment. Either Indie was running for her life from sorcerers, dealing with "friend's" drama or learning how to channel her witch energy with the help of Bishop, a warlock who kept following Indie to check up on her and soon became a friend.

This story was so sad! Not all of it (has to do with Indie's family), but there were parts where I just wanted to cry because it was so sad and it is very understandable if you have read the book. Indie is a very strong girl for having gone through what she did. I would have probably stayed in bed until I had gray hair. Experiencing what she did just by reading it, had me with an ache-filled chest. Of course, Bishop was always there to help cheer Indie and distract her from what was going on, even if he was acting like a jerk.

I always like male characters that are jerks and Bishop is no different. He isn't really a jerk, but has his moments. He is very sweet when he wants to be. He wears a leather jacket which makes him even hotter! When Indie saw the tattoo he has on his neck, my jaw dropped when she mentioned what it was. I hope my boyfriend never does that or I will throw a fit, I swear.

I really wanted more witch craft and that's saying a lot because I'm not into witch stuff but this book was so good that had me wanting more! Thanks to this book, I will now be reading more witch books. I need CHARMED in my hands. I need that baby. I have to wait until next year (it sucks) to read what's going to happen next. It leaves a cliff hanger! Authors are conspiring against the reader, wanting to crush our feels. The epilogue confused me but its because its in another character's point of view; watch out for that so you don't get confused like I did.

All in all, AWESOME story! Go check it out and support Michelle so she keeps writing more books! We need more!
