The Collected Regrets of Clover

A big-hearted story about figuring out what you want from life - and then finding the courage to go after it. Perfect for fans of Sally Page, Ruth Hogan and Clare Pooley. ----- Clover Brooks has forgotten how to live. It might be because she spends her time caring for people in their final days, working as a death doula in New York City. Or it might be because she has a regret of her own - one she can't bring herself to let go of. But then she meets Claudia: a feisty old woman who has one last wish . . . As Clover begins a new adventure, will she remember how to live her own big, beautiful life? ----- Your favourite authors have fallen for Clover's life-affirming, quietly powerful story ... An uplifting story about living a full, beautiful life

Clover has seen more deaths in her life than the average person. It’s no wonder she is a death doula. And, by keeping her life very small, she can avoid confronting her own grief.

Until one day, when some new people walk into her life…and refuse to leave.

This was a wonderful celebration of life, despite the subject. Clover wasn’t always likable, but I found myself in her corner.

this book was absolutely beautiful. it felt like a warm hug. this month has been extraordinarily terrible because of the loss of my childhood dog and my grandpa. grief is so persistent and what i’ve learned from this book and my therapist is that grief never goes away. and that’s okay. because it never goes away. this book is giving me the courage to go on though. to live with the grief.

my favorite quote were the ending words of this beautiful and amazing book: “And instead of constantly asking ourselves the question of why we’re here, maybe we should be savoring a simpler truth: We are here.”

good character arch, slow to get to the point

I adored reading this book. It was lovely and sad and heart breaking and hopeful all wrapped up in one book.
