I can see why this one is not for everyone. It’s extremely problematic, it’s really gross at times and I highly recommend looking up content warnings. I've also heard the representation for bipolar isn't great either but I cannot comment on that myself. However, I can’t deny the fact that I was intrigued and hooked the whole way through and that ending was so satisfying.

I read this book as a first book for a read-a-ton. I was expecting something quick and light to start at midnight... this was not the book for that so the two stars may be unfair. This book needs to have ALL the content warnings. It is written well but it is a very heavy story to have this kind of cover and to be advertised as kind of a fairy tale retelling. Maybe I didn't even read the synopsis, I just saw Hansel and Gretel retelling and assumed... so again maybe it's my fault that I expected something light and quick to start the read-a-ton.
