While not quite as great as Only the Good Spy Young, this installment in the Gallagher Girls series was still enjoyable. It was a little darker and more suspenseful. I was not sure how it would turn out. But who could not route for Cammie and her friends?

RE-READ: Sept. 10, 2017 

Despite this having only less than 300 pages, it still has the right amount of everything-- Action, romance, mystery, humor, thrill. Plus it's so fast-paced so there's never a moment in which I found myself bored to death. The transition of the story as the series goes on is also very well done. We started innocently, from learning about CoveOps to a much darker side, and by that I mean actually fighting against an ancient terrorist group. I also love how the character development is evident in each of the characters. I just love this series so much. I love how the story unfolds, I love all of the characters, I love each and every part of this book! There's just too much to say, but not enough words!

Plot twists and drama. What surprised me was that the drama was drama worthy. Everyone is so nice and sisterly. Cammie has grown up a lot more. I really like this series. And I see the hints now! Very subtle. A book with pain and some laughter. It's still light, though.

Wow.... chills all along my arms from this book! I could not put this book down, I probably finished it in one day!!! It was THAT good. Ally Carter outdid herself, yet again! This book kept me at the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. One thing did bug me though, at the beginning when (view spoiler)[Cammie came back to Gallagher (hide spoiler)]and there was that drama with Bex and Zach that bugged me just a little because it was so obvious that (view spoiler)[Zach would never go for Bex (hide spoiler)]but yet I could alway see it happening, I could always see Carter throwing that at us. Nothing huge to be bugged about of course but just thought I should mention that. I think its obvious how many stars ill give this AMAZING book.. 5!!!!!!

Oh.My.God.
I still can't believe this book was so awesome.
There was just so much action and the plot was so great.The characters where, WOW, amazing. Although I really wanted to strangle Bex in the first half of the book. I really wanna find out what happens next. SO EXCITED !!!! 
I can't wait for the next book in the series. Too bad it's the last one.

Dear Dr. Steve, get ready to have your ass-kicked 'cause Cammie is coming to get you.

This is seriously an underestimated series. All of you that own the first book and are on the fence about reading it.... JUST DO IT!!!!!

           Okay, so I recognise that this series gets higher and higher ratings the more the series progresses. And I get that, I do, because once you get into the main plot and the ball starts rolling, it's a wild ride and so, so much fun. I do feel that this book slows the plot down, however. We don't know anything at all for most of the book, and while that is definitely not a mistake and totally part of the plot, it gets rather boring with no answers. It seems as if every corner there are more questions with the current questions still being unanswered. This left me confused, frustrated, and yet somehow more desperate to get to the end. At the end of the last book, we see Cammie pledge to leave the Academy, and while I know that this series follows a specific semester pattern, I thought this one would break the pattern and we would actually get to read about Cammie chasing down the Circle herself. Which, I guess, we get a good picture of the end, just not the way I expected it to be. 

Character-wise, I had pretty mixed emotions. I was so mad at Bex for most of the book!! I understand being upset because your best friend left on a dangerous mission, but Bex was just downright mean. Macey was more of a friend to Cammie this time and they have not even known each other that long. Cammie didn't seem much of herself this time, but I suppose that makes sense after what she has been through (also, I still don't understand how she can forget an ENTIRE SUMMER, but yeah, anyway). As for Rachel Morgan (my fave), I found her insistence on keeping Cammie in the dark about what she might have done over the summer super odd. I mean, I understand the concept of not revisiting the past because it might be painful, but there are questions that need to be answered and certainly Cammie could fill in the blanks if she wasn't being told to forget everything all the time. I still don't like Agent Townsend, but at least this time he's less of an opponent and more of an extra hand around. As for Zach, I can't actually remember much of what I thought about him (I only finished this a few days ago and I've already forgotten, which is never a good sign), but nothing good sticks out for him either. OH, AND DR. STEVE!!?!? Talk about never seeing that coming. I realise now that the CoveOps final during the second book was a huge foreshadowing, but I didn't even see it coming until he was halfway through his explanation. Also, I am still confused on who the Circle is, what they do, and so on? I understand they want Cammie because she has read this important list, but I couldn't figure out why it was worth killing over. Also, while we are on the topic, I found the Senator Winters twist super weird as well. It's not just that I didn't see it coming, but that it just felt out of place and doesn't make sense - especially because we know he lost the election? And having Cammie meet up with Preston in Rome (both times) was also weird, because his character didn't appear to be set up enough past the third book to make another appearance.

So I read this book IMMEDIATELY after reading the fourth one, and it has blended together a little for me. Add that into the fact that for most of the book, we remain answer-less and appear to go in circles, it should probably be 3.5 stars. But it is still the same story, so I can't really complain because ultimately, I love these characters a lot. Also, I am so glad that Joe Solomon is a good guy, because I don't know if I could forgive Ally Carter if he wasn't.

I love this series it is so much fun to read. Ally carter does a great job of telling a fun story that I would recommend to all ages. In this book you see Cammie develop more and she is a more broken character where in all the other books she was strong and its nice to see the other side of her and to see how she handles it all. I can't say enough praise for this series I owe all the books and they will be books that I will have my daughters read when they are teenagers because they are perfect for young girls. They are clean with no drinking, swearing, or sex, which is hard to find in ya adult books now a days. I can't wait for the next book to come out!!!!!
