I wonder if there lived anyone before and after Carl who could write about science with such poetry. This book is a statement for humanity, the Universe and everyone in it.

Details the hopes of space exploration and humanity.

Listened to the audiobook. The first few chapters were narrated by Carl Sagan and later by Ann Druyan. It started off really great with the famous eponymous quote and the tales of the Voyager spacecraft. The middle chapters were a bit too technical and hard to get through. But the ending chapters were good and gave some insight into the future of space exploration. Overall, a really informative read.

The technology and advances discussed in this book are a bit out of date (this book was written in the early 90s). So I didn't find some of the chapters on them are particularly exhilarating. But Sagan is a visionary with a wild yet logical imagination. And that's where this book shines. His vision of our species' exploration in the Solar System is awe-inspiring. He is truly one of the great scientists of my generation. If it's not because of his work in the academic field, then it is certainly because of how he inspired people.
