I feel like this book was written specifically for me. The plot, the character, the DRAGONS. It's like everything I love and then it was a book.

But... the pacing was off. And that just really jilted me the wrong way, knocking off and ENTIRE star and a place on my favorites shelf. It seems like a year, or at least a school year should have passed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that was the plot suggested, a school year. but there was no changing of the seasons, and I felt like I was in the story for maybe a couple of weeks, not a whole school year. Yeah.

Also, I can't find it in myself to like Evie and Remington. I mean, their first couple of interactions were GREAT, particular when they met, I loved that. But as the story went I, you can literally feel the author struggling to find reasons to put them in the same room together and converse, and then he went and just gave up on finding legitimate reasons and just had Remington continually say "It's so hard to have a conversation in this place." Which got really old, really fast.

A story that takes us back to fairytales of childhood, with dragons, princesses, witches and knights, but with a different goal. In this novel, our protagonist, who at first doesn't have a name, must enter a preparatory school for princesses, where she learns that being a princess is more than wearing pretty dresses and dancing with princes. The school takes her through a test of courage and independence, where she will have to learn more about herself in order to face her enemies.

In this book, the author uses and subverts several fairytale cliches in order to create a new magical world and a story with lots of adventure! I thought it was a fun and light read - I heard it on audiobook and the narrator was a bit over the top, but it didn't ruin the reading experience.

The plot surprised me, even though it wasn't very complex, it had some twists which I really liked - especially regarding the true origins of our protagonist, who raised her and why she doesn't have a name. Despite that, I can't say it was a very memorable or special story, and the secondary characters lack development and are somewhat caricate, which ended up making the read more superficial. 

Even so, if you like fantasy and are looking for something easier and quick to read, I would recommend this one!

Uma história que nos remete a contos de fantasia da infância, com dragões, princesas, bruxas e cavaleiros, mas com um objetivo diferente. Nesse livro, nossa protagonista, que inicialmente não tem um nome deve entrar numa escola de preparação para princesas, onde ela descobre que ser uma princesa é mais do que usar vestidos bonitos e dançar com príncipes. A escola a leva a um teste de coragem e independência, onde ela vai ter que descobrir mais sobre si mesma para poder enfrentar seus inimigos.

Nesse livro o autor se utiliza de vários clichês de contos de fada para criar uma mundo mágico e diferente e uma história com muita aventura! Eu achei um livro bem divertido e levinho - ouvi no audiobook e a narradora é um pouco exagerada, mas não estragou a leitura.

O enredo me surpreendeu, apesar de ser pouco complexo, teve algumas reviravoltas que eu gostei muito - principalmente sobre a verdadeira origem da nossa protagonista, quem a criou e o porquê dela não saber seu nome. Apesar disso, não posso dizer que seja uma leitura muito memorável e especial, e os personagens secundários tem muito pouco desenvolvimento e são um tanto caricatos, o que acaba tornando a leitura mais superficial.

Ainda assim, recomendo se você gosta de fantasia e está procurando alguma mais tranquila para ler rápido!
