OMG!!!!!! This book was so freaking nerve racking. I lost it a couple of times.. The only thing that stops me from giving it 5 stars is just the explanation for the carnage was just not believable, I mean c'mon, was that really the best explanation the writer could come up with? Aside that little pesky detail it was a great and I mean a GREAT book!!!

Entertaining enough for 3 stars. Vivid, fast paced, interesting characters AND intriguing story but not completely developed in my opinion.

Apocalyptic story about a family who are the run for their lives. From what, no one seems to know for sure. Some people are affected, some aren't, but Jack will do whatever it takes to save his family. I enjoyed this story for the most part, the ending just seemed hurried and rushed.

This book scared the crapola out of me......and I don't scare very easily. Just imagine the world going to Hell around you. People are randomly killing friends/family/strangers for no reason at all. Everyone, from toddlers to senior citizens are affected. You are getting ready to pack up your things and head to Canada....where they say that there are refugee camps. All of a sudden, you hear your name and your wife's name called out on the EBS (emergency broadcast system) along with your kids names and addresses. You know that you don't have a lot of time left and that you need to get moving. So begins that game of cat and mouse you and your family play with complete strangers who are trying to kill you. There are convoys of these people traveling and wiping out whole towns. No where is safe and you can't trust anyone. Then you find out that your 7 year old son was exposed to the same phenomenon that started this whole mess. But he hasn't changed. Why? You don't have time to think about it because those people have chased you into the Rocky Mountains. In the dead of winter. With no food or water. What will happen...... I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars on Shelfari and Goodreads. Like I said above....this book scared the shit out of me. It is a quick read....I read it in one night, staying up until 1am. The ending is pretty good too and a little surreal. So would I reccomend this book to friends and family? Absolutely. I would just tell them to sleep with the lights on because the book is that realistic.
