Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who's had a bad year. She was smart and on track but then her mom left, her dad is depressed, she's graduating, barely, and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football schalorship. Significance was a total guilty pleasure. It was cheesy but the fun kind of cheesy not the kind that makes me want to throw the book across the room. No, the writing was not great. But it was not terrible either. Certainly better than Twilight. Actually there were a couple of references to Twilight, but I could not quite tell if they were tongue-in-cheek or not.

The thing that makes the story enjoyable was the sucker trap of soulmates destined for each other. Saccharine and cutesy, yes. But still fun and endearing. 

Towards the end though, the story started to drag on a bit. (view spoiler)[Like most YA books, there was something of a love triangle. It was bearable in Significance because the two main characters are exclusive and committed to each other. And the other two guys (yes, two!) who are helplessly in love with her are stuck with unrequited love. That is the only reason I could put up with that whole situation was that the story lacked the usually waffling female who can't make up her mind between multiple guys. But even so, by the end I was a bit sick of everyone fawning wholeheartedly over as she really did not seem that great of a character. And it definitely got worse when she went through the magical transformation that not only gave her psychic powers, it somehow left her tanned, toned, and with bigger boobs. Which was when I was no longer able to suspend my disbelief. I guess I can go along with psychic powers and soulmates, but when you try to tell me that those psychic powers somehow led to a bigger cup size?? Nope. You definitely lose points for that. And she already has three guys pitifully in love with her; she does not need any extra handouts. (hide spoiler)]

But like I said, it was a fun guilty pleasure, and I probably will check out the next book in the series.

This book is brilliant! 

At first, I had my doubts since the beginning is a bit slow and it felt like your average teenage drama. But, as soon as the supernatural is introduced the story picks up and everything is way more exciting. The plot is actually quite intense and the whole villan family thing really puts a twist on things. I really also like that sex is constantly talked about, I mean the main characters are teenagers, but sex is not the driving point in the story and it is actually common for Aces to wait until marriage to have sex. This gives a very refreshing air to this book.
The characters are also great. Maggie, of course, as the main female lead is who we learn the most about and I quire like her. I also really like Caleb, but the other characters like Kyle, although he is suppose to be one of the good guys, I don't like that much at all. He is just an asshole really. I like how Maggie's dad grows within the story although he still isn't a super dad by any means.
All in all, this is a great book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This surprised me. I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did. I really liked Maggie as the main character and enjoyed to find out about Caleb and his family. 
I especially liked how the whole situation between Caleb and Maggie was portrayed and how as I reader you learned about the whole thing through Maggie's eyes.

I read this probably around my sophomore or junior year in high school and believe I liked it a lot. I have a feeling I might have to read it over though. But I know I liked it, and loved the main characters. I read this though before she had an editor or was published! So maybe it will be better written now

Good story so far. I needed something in between sci-fi and contemporary. Reminded me a bit of the Lux series with them being connected. So annoyed with Kyle right now, and at Bish as well. Will continue this book series.

There are few stories out there that can drag me into the characters world this easy. Significance is a four book series.

This book was a sweet romance with a paranormal twist. What I loved about this is that the paranormal is almost like a subplot compared to the romance. It's there and you notice it, but its not a shove in your face paranormal compared to other books out there.

I, being a lover of cliches and romance, love the instant love. Usually a lot of people don't like this fact based on it being non realistic but since this is paranormal and the circumstances are different, it makes sense.


Caleb- The definition of book boyfriend. I actually became utterly jealous over Maggie-a fictional character!- because she got Caleb. He's the sweetest, sexiest character I've read. Understanding, amusing and completely head over heels in love with Maggie! He has hopes and dreams, fears and insecurities just like the rest of us and I like how he doesn't portray the norm for a guy. 
The Jacobson's- Best family I've read about. I love Grandma! She's hilarious and witty. Caleb's parents are amazing and sweet, always there to help when Caleb needs it. They are all such a loving family, you can't help but smile. 
The first kissing scene- You know how the first kiss goes. I don't even need to explain how amazing this scene was, especially if you have read this series or the Collide series by Shelly...

I have some serious problems with premise of this story (as evidenced by my updates for the first third of the book) and the need for an editor. I won't rehash. However. I did stay up till the wee hours reading and finished this as soon as I woke up enough to concentrate. And I'm definitely going to read the next book in the series (likely the third when it is released as well). 

Sorry for the short review. I'm still waiting for my coffee.
