➺ 4/5 🌟 SPOILERS AHEAD.... This novel definitely left a bittersweet taste in my mouth. I want at least one more chapter for a definite ending but the author obviously left it like that to let the readers continue the story in their own way, the way this novel has always been operating. It was like telling us that Kim Dokja switched from being the 'reader' to being the 'protagonist' and us, the readers, are responsible for continuing his story by thinking of him. The ending felt satisfying but it also felt not at the same time. The emptiness in my heart maybe sprung from not having Kim Dokja's perspective in the last 30% of the ending. Not hearing his inner monologue clearly portrays his soul scattering and his memories losing. I felt like I was part of the gang who 'mourns' Kim Dokja's absence. And I also experienced the anticipation they felt when a small hint of Kim Dokja coming back appeared and it also gave me a sliver of hope. This novel might not be perfect but it definitely holds a special place in my heart. Being invested in a long novel like this, a novel that gave me so many different emotions and even felt like I am part of the group, is not something I always encounter as a reader. I loved and sympathized with the characters. I laughed and cried and despaired with them. I felt all their defeats and victories and I lose hope and celebrated with them. Feeling all these emotions, despite draining at times, I am really grateful to discover this novel and be able to know these wonderful characters. I fully understand the hype for this novel. Now I wonder if the live action could bring enough justice for this.

➺ 4/5 🌟 Two chapters before the end of this volume, I thought it would end in a somewhat calm manner for the first time. But that final moment at the last chapter. WHAT THE HELL????? Now my confidence about this novel having a happy ending is continuously dwindling right before my eyes!! Would it be Kim Dokja against everyone??? I know his companions would be by his side, but still!!! I have no courage to start the final volume, but I'm dying to know what will happen next!! I'm getting so anxious, damn!!!

➺ 4.5/5 🌟 Why is the ending of every volume so devastating??? I hate the feeling of seeing Kim Dokja doing dangerous things alone and always welcoming death!!

➺ 4/5 🌟 A volume of ORV isn't complete if there isn't at least one fight to the death between Kim Dokja and Yoo Jonghyuk. Sometimes you'll wonder if they're really companions. Or maybe these fights are what strengthens their relationship. But that 'revelation' in the last part of the volume about Secretive Plotter's identity. I know it's just YJH's assumption but that idea never actually crossed my mind even once. Now, even if it's true or not, I couldn't exactly avoid that possibility. And that possibility makes me anxious.

➺ 4.5/5 🌟 DON'T TALK TO ME, I'M DEVASTATED!!

4.75 OK WOW this book was SOMETHING, i loved it and the characters i was confused 24/7 reading it and I'm sure i will keep being confused on the next volume BUT I LOVE IT. I just can't know what Kin Dokja is going to do next and i just love that. I love to be able yo know the plotwist but in orv I'm loving that... i just can't know what is gonna happen next. Is really funny and cool, really great i swear. It was consuming not knowing what is gonna happen next i really can't wait to know what is the end that dokja wants to achieve

It is slightly unpleasant that the translator changed towards the ending, and introduced new terms for things, and new spellings for almost all the characters...

not gr splitting this up in volumes while i was apparently in the middle of the last volume?!??! i read this all in one place so it felt like a VERY LONG novel and not five volumes to me. i'll just add this one despite having read all five... anyway, two months later i'm finally done with this beast! despite it's length the plot was pretty easy to follow all the way through, and it stayed pretty faithful to characters introduced relatively early. in short: long, but easy to follow. the epilogues also tied everything up in a very nice and neat way. i wish i could express how i feel about the concept of "reader" in this novel, as someone who, very much like kim dokja, finds a lot of solace in consuming fiction, but i'm not smart enough for that. i'll just leave it at it being very neat to me. like, what does a reader do for the story, and what does the author do for the reader? also found myself very amused and intrigued by the characters. there were obvious main characters, but i also felt as if a lot of the supporting cast were close enough main characters with how well thought out they were. tldr; long, but good and easy to follow.

Highlights

Han Sooyoung sighed grandly once more and opened her lips. "In the future..."
Her gaze fixed to the floor slowly rose up as her words continued on. "In the future when all the scenarios have ended, I may want to get back to writing novels again."
It was the first time she looked at me with such serious eyes and that took me by surprise just a little.
Meanwhile, she carried on. "When that happens, read my novel, okay?"
"Your novel?"
She nodded her head. "I'm giving you the opportunity to become its very first reader."
"I'm not such a good reader, though."
"Don't be an ass and just read it when I tell you to."
"Fine, fine. I'll definitely read it."
I replied good-naturedly.
Well, it'd not be a problem to read her novel. I mean, I liked reading novels, to begin with.
However, she must've found my response out of her expectation, because she asked me back to confirm it. "...For real?"
"Yeah, for real."
She stared at me with disbelieving eyes. "But, it might be over three thousand chapters?"
"That's probably right up my alley, then."
"It might be boring, too."
"It's you writing it, so that's not possible, you know."
Han Sooyoung's eyes grew wider after hearing my reply.
no comment, just adoration the way the author wrote these lovely characters

"They are my purpose."
They all love each other so much. I cannot stress enough how much i love found family, especially this found family :(

"You don't have to fight alone in this regression turn."
pierced right through my heart
