I was in the mood for some essays and came across this one. Quite amusing, not going to show up on any of my Top's tho.

I picked this up ready to be excited, but after a couple of haha stories, truth be told I got kind of bored. I dragged my feet while reading this and now can only remember a few of Sloane's stories. Some were well-told stories about her childhood (like attending camp) or about her being a bridesmaid but the rest are pretty forgettable. I'm feeling generous, so 3 stars it is.

I don't have a lot to say about this collection. I remember years ago I read a sample of this book on Amazon and thought it sounded hilarious and I would love to read it (as soon as I could get a free copy from one of my girls or it became a Kindle Daily Deal). Well, the price never did drop to my level of cheapness it seems, and I spontaneously checked this out from the library. 

Reading this at a different time in my life has been interesting. I still love a good messy twenty-somethings story, but it has to be good. Some of the stories here were very funny but felt very distant from me now. I'd almost forgotten how selfish I was when I was younger, and it's nice to look back at that time and my life and be familiar with it but not still in it.

I didn't find any of these essays particularly memorable. With that said, the writing wasn't necessarily bad. I honestly just don't see why this book was written/received so much acclaim.
