She has a job on morning TV, her bank manager is actually being nice to her, and when it comes to spending money, her new motto is Buy Only What You Need - and she's really (sort of) sticking to it. The icing on the brioche is that she's been offered a chance to work in New York. New York! The Museum of Modern Art! The Guggenheim! The Metropolitan Opera House! And Becky does mean to go to them all. Honestly. It's just that it seems silly not to check out a few other famous places first. Like Saks. And Bloomingdales. And Barneys. And one of those fantastic sample sales where you can get a Prada dress for $10. Or was it $100? Is Becky too dazzled to care? .

And that amusing little place she's been told about where you can sometimes get a Prada dress for $10. Or was it $100? Anyway, it's full of fantastic bargains. Becky is so awesome and so awkward at the same time. I would drown in shame if things like this would happen to me. And I would have punched some people. Like, a lot of them.

A light little read and I would give it my usual 3 stars I give to books like this one. BUT I got so annoyed at he protagonist because of her unchanged habits. I have most of the series and will probably continue. But this is simply only 2.25 stars to me.

I am so in love with this series! The first book was insanely good, and this one is just as great. It made me laugh out loud, it made me sad, it made me happy.

There is something so relatable in Becky, I guess she is what I don’t have the courage (or lack of common sense) to be. I so get her love for shopping and how quickly it can go out of hands, and how little it takes to justify each purchase.


  Recently, we had this friend of Suze’s to stay on our sofa – and when he left he gave us this huge box full of a hundred KitKats. Which is such a great thank-you present, but it means all we eat, all day long, is KitKats. Still, as Suze pointed out last night, the quicker we eat them, the quicker they’ll be gone – so in a way, it’s more healthy just to stuff in as many as possible.


I swear this is so me. No sentence has called to me as strongly. Every time I make a huge cheesecake, knowing all too well I live alone and no one visits me, I end up having 3 slices in one sitting and get to the point where I shove it down just so it’s done and I don’t end up eating a kilo a day.
So reading from someone I can understand on a certain level is so much fun, and Becky truly has a fresh fun voice.

I think the setting didn’t captivate me like before, as I live in London so I liked it best when she was going around my city, while I have gone to New York only once for an afternoon so I don’t really know it. But it didn’t spoil my fun at all.

I felt really bad for Becky so many times, she is a bit silly and gets herself in bad situations way too often, but Luke really wasn’t nice at times, especially when he got so upset because she was photographed shopping a lot. I hated how that made him bad and could not empathise with her. The ending was good though, I hope I will like him more in books to come.

Last small thing: Becky mentions flying to meet Catherine Zeta Jones and hang out with her and her baby, who I assume is Dylan and he is also 20 now, which made me realise how old these books are.
