Did I miss something along the way? 

(view spoiler)[I lost interest in this book once his body was found. I thought, that's it. The body has been found and we can be done. I then realized we had to amble through the subplot of renting the space from the murderers and Kinsey starting to look for the murderer. I got tired of Kinsey complaining about Fiona, but then never contacting her very much. Her money problems were a bore and made me roll my eyes. Do I really care that she didnt want to touch her savings to get out of the retainer? No, not really.

The end itself made me think I had missed something, and I realized I never paid attention to Anica (couldn't tell you who she was in this very large cast) and the omission of an epilogue didn't help things.  (hide spoiler)]

The cast was very large, there are two wives with their own host of side characters, as well as an active subplot which as far as I could tell has nothing to do with the main plot. There were too many branches on a thin tree. Usually the subplots at least coincide with the main plot.

It still holds the Kinsey charm but I think it could have been half as long if the subplot was cut to make room for the main plot.
