I really enjoyed this book... at the beginning. Susan gave me some very helpful looks into my own mind and fears, I now have techniques that I am going to try out. I only made it part way through chapter 6 of 12, just over half way. I wanted to continue, but... I reacted very strongly to an anecdote she used about a woman who's father was literally insulting her, she backed away from the relationship and learned some techniques from Susan and came back and handled the relationship better, but then she suggested that maybe the comments from the father stopped... because he saw how much more put together her life was... And... just ew... Is that victim blaming? I am not sure the term applies, might be too strong, but it feels real close. Maybe this is my own lack of positive thinking and maybe I will come back later in life and change my mind about her point of view, but I am not in the right place to receive this message and I am not sure I want to be.

I never really know how to rate non fiction books as you don’t know if they were helpful or not until a long time has passed.

I thought that it had a nice concept, but it seemed to either repeat itself or go on to a different topic completely. It was a very quick read, but a tad boring.
I found it hard not to cringe at some of the sentences, they just felt so flippant and not really thought out.

Overall though it was an okay read, and think it has helped me question a few things and has hopefully helped my wellbeing to some degree.

I didn't finish this book completely, but got a good way through it. It really helped me get a better focus on how I head into things that terrify me. Know when ever my anxiety plays up due to fear, my mum references this book
