I loved this! A nice short fantasy story. I immediately got into the story and the illustrations are so beautiful that I stayed on a page for a while after I finished reading it. Though it's geared towards children I think everyone would enjoy this light read. I'd love to read more books like this!

I listened to this one and really liked it. 

This is a short story about a girl named Adara and an ice dragon.

This was a weird book. It had a muddled message, with no real defined moral at the end. It was really violent for a kid's book. The font face suggested a younger audience but the content is geared towards an older audience.

Stick to novels for adults from Martin. He doesn't write well for children.

This is an amazing short story by George R. R. Martin. I have never read any of his short stories before but I now I cannot wait to read more. I loved Adara's story and how they cover around 3 years of her life, how she came to be and her connection to winter and the ice dragon.
I think this is a children's book but there are some dark undertones in my opinion such as, her fathers relationship with her, cold in connection with loneliness.

On the other hand there is an unexplained war happening which my mind kept drifting off to whenever it was mentioned. I wanted to know which houses were at war and just a little more context of what was happening at the time. Nevertheless, this book was written well before the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series so possibly that is why?
