Summer’s Crossing- Oh, Puck! It was really cool getting Puck’s POV for this one. It *Kind Of* reminded me of Part 2 from Breaking Dawn, the bit from Jacob’s POV.

This is one of the BEST faerie books I've read. Yes, better even than Wicked Lovely. DEFINITELY better than Need Pixies (cuz Need Pixies sucked like Edward), better than Faeriewalker... Not quite better than Maggie Steifvaters Faerie books, but still, it put three series to shame. SHAME. yes, you heard me.
Meghan, Ethatn, Puck, Ash... they're all believable. I felt Meghan and Ash's romance was a little... well ,there was no lead-up, really. no indication it would happen other than she saw him te mist and one dance under duress. but whatevs, I liked it anyways.
And I NEEEEEEEEEEEED the second book!

Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan is deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, becomes a prisoner of the Winter faery queen, and loses her own fey powers. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey--ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her--and trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly.

"Do you love him?"
Him, of course, being Puck.
to which the correct answer should have been:
"No, I don't love him, but you kinda broke my heart into tiny little pieces, put it back together and then broke up with me, and he just happened to be my rebound guy."
but what did she say?
"I don't know."
O, come on, Meg! Puck is in love with you and you rebounded with him, and that's not you being in love with him, no two ways about it.

Btw, it was REALLY LAME of Julie Kagawa to turn this into a love triangle.

Julie Kagawa brings once more the fey to books with another thrilling installment of the Iron Fey.

I've always liked fairy books, but with so many of them out there it's nice to read one with a twist specially as Kagawa has done. The same fascinating characters return once more. I was dubious at first,and I had to admit I got bored in the first pages, but it all changed once I got into the story and I was hooked. 

One of my favorite things about the book is the development in characters, Meghan is no ore the soft girl and she is now more independent, even of Ash who struggles with this new side of her. Ash, also slips off his icy facade and even Puck returns a bit more to the same he was in the first book.

One of my least favorite things is Meghan's continuous disregard toward Ash, who fights with the feelings toward her.

The ending is crushing and I can't wait for the next book to be out and know how this story unfolds. Overall, the series is highly recommendable, addictive and awesome.

Ok so that was GREAT. I loved this one! I can't believe how much I'd forgotten! I didn't remember ANYTHING from this book and that made the reading experience even more enjoyable! I love how much Meghan has changed from the first book. Throughout this story, she has gained so much confidence and grown into such a strong leader. Ash kind of pissed off a couple times in this book because he was all "I need to protect you" and she was all "I CAN DO THIS". She's turned into this badass and it was really wonderful to watch her take charge of her self and her situation. The ending breaks my heart but also makes me want to start the next one PRONTO. Can't wait to finish this series!

OMG. Can I just say that if you aren't reading this series, I have a question for you...WHY AREN'T YOU READING THIS SERIES? This book was awesome. I liked it better than the first one, which hardly ever happens! It was just so good! Ash and Meghan's relationship was the best in this novel, by far. And the author also introduced some AMAZING new characters that I can't wait to come across in the next novel. I can see how some people could be disappointed with the ending of this book because it felt a little abrupt and I guess you could say it didn't end well for the main characters. But it leaves you with this feeling of hope because you just know it has to end well in the end! And honestly I thought the ending was great and it just got be suuuuper pumped for the next novel. Like, I honestly can't wait to read it. It's in Ash's perspective so obviously, I'm probably going to love it. Looking forward to it!

I gotta say, I don't remember this book being nearly as cheesy as it is. I mean, some of her thoughts and dialogue are just...ugh. She's pretty ridiculous in the beginning of this book (lots of eye-rolling from me, for sure) but this book is STILL so addicting! I just love it! All of the drama and the adventure and the kissing! MAN, I just fall so hard for these characters. This series just feels very nostalgic for me and this book probably isn't the best of the series but I was still pretty dang engrossed.
While reading this book for the second time, I definitely realized that this book is essentially the New Moon of The Iron Fey series. Very similar in the love triangle aspect.
I was going to take a break and read something else but I don't think I can wait. Onward!

This book lived up to being just about as amazing as the first one, if not better (in the romance department, that is). Yes, before you read any further, Meghan IS a tad bit annoying in the beginning of this novel. But what girl doesn't have her annoying moments?! I thought they made sense. Also, they didn't even last but about, 2 or 3 chapters (I think). If that stops you from finishing this book then that sucks. Because this book gets SO FREAKING GOOD as you keep reading it. The relationships get better and juicy, the drama gets good, the problems intensify. Goodness, I just really love this series. I can't wait to dig into the third one!

I rearranged my bookshelf recently and rediscovered this series. I looked at it and got this wave of nostalgia and thought, "you know, I should re-read this book." So I did! And I just gotta say, I still LOVED it. 
Yes, I found myself reacting to some things differently. This time around, I did find Meghan to be a bit more annoying than I remembered, but I still think she had a pretty stellar character arc throughout and really gained her ground. I thought the romance was maybe a tad rushed and I found the beginning to be pretty boring, but once this book gets started, I AM HOOKED. It just brings you in so well! I love the adventure in this! And the characters!
I'm so glad I'm picking this series up again. I had the best time re-visiting all the memories and feelings from my first time reading it. I love how books can do that! 
And I will be keeping the rating the same, even if it may have changed slightly. I think it should stay how I rated it the first time!

Oh, The Iron King. This book surpassed all my expectations. I loved it. I just REALLY LOVED IT. I loved the main character; I found her to be strong and powerful, but also very human with feelings that she's not afraid of. I fell head-over-heels in love with Ash AND Puck (I always have this problem), and I loved all the new, interesting characters she brought to life in the Never Never (other world). The author just has this way of describing things SO WELL. To the point where you feel like you can see everything Meghan is seeing, feeling exactly what she's feeling. This book just totally took hold of me and I couldn't stop thinking about it! I was never one for fantasy, but now I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of this series. AGH, SO GOOD.

The Iron King was a great novel by Julie Kagawa!

It follows the story of Meghan Chase who discovers she is a fairy! When she travels over into the Summer Realm and finds out she is the daughter of a King, everything changes for her. And when she falls in love with a fairy from the rivaling realm, chaos ensues.

This book was an interesting read, but it didn't keep me hooked at every turn. The writing style seemed more aimed at the younger half of Young Adult but the story definitely fits the Young Adult genre. 

Overall, I really enjoyed the novel and it was an interesting plot, but it didn't have unexpected twists and turns to keep me really hooked. I'll definitely read the sequels because it's a great story!

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa was a good book, but definitely not as good as the first in the series. I was hoping for lots of action, romance and adventure like the first book brought, but it fell flat for me. 

This book feels a strain between Ash and Meghan, and Puck seems to be missing for half the book and randomly shows up. Because of the strain, Ash is not there for some of the book and Puck shows up at the opposite time. I much preferred seeing the odd relationship between Ash and Puck when they were together with Meghan, they proved to become an interesting plot device in the first bok. Also, a lot of the plot seems to happen at just the right time, like Puck appearing randomly out of nowhere. 

Overall, the plot itself was a grande idea, but there was so much potential that didn't happen. I did like the book and I will continue the series, but this book was a let down of a sequel in my opinion.

I bought this book over a year ago, because I thought the summary sounded interesting. Still it took me this long to actually start reading the book, and that may have been because of the little circle on the cover saying this book was 'The Next Twilight'. After reading the book I can honestly say that the sticker is wrong. This book felt more a bit like the next Mortal Instruments, in my opinion.

There was a girl, with an artistic mother, who turned out to be special. She had a bit of a nerdy best friend and she fell hopelessly in love with a douch-ey guy who kind of clashed with her best friend a bit. Her best friend did also turn out to have a bit of a crush on her. Also someone she loved very dearly got kidnapped by the bad people. Yeah, as I started to read more and more it just sounded more like City of Bones and though I really disliked CoB, I liked The Iron King a bit more. Not really sure why though, because with the entire love-triangle and the kind of insta-love Meghan experienced with Ash it wouldn't really have been the book for me.

I think it's because this book was a bit more scary and gory than TMI was, with some really (imo) disturbing descriptions of things (in a sexual way not a murderous way) being done to humans by the faeries. I also liked this better because they almost immediately went to the faery world, and I liked it when that happens in stories - because I've read a lot of stories like this happening in the human world already, I want to see more fictional worlds!

Still, there is one thing that I didn't like about that fictional world: no map. There was no map in this book and that is SUCH A SHAME! I want to know where all the courts are, where the places Meghan visited are, where all the trods are located; I want to know ALL OF IT!

And now for the characters; like I already said I kept on comparing Meghan to Clary from TMI a lot; she did some dumb things, she screamed almost every time she saw something scary, but in the end I started to like her a bit more (even though she still had the hots for Ash); her best friend who had like four different names in the first five chapters alone, was a bit like Simon (except that he was a 'creature' right from the start and didn't become one later on); I really liked Puck because he was just an awesome character (I don't know how to explain this without spoilering too much). Ash was DE-FI-NI-TE-LY like Jace. I disliked him right from the start, and of course disliked the romance between him and Meghan. To be fair, I started to like him a bit further in the book, but still not a lot.

Then there were some other characters, like Meghan's family (mother, stepfather and little brother Ethan); her real father, king of the Summer court who I imagined looked exactly like Thranduil from the Hobbit (I heard Lee Pace speaking every time he opened his mouth). The pack rats, which were just my favourites, and Grim. I love cats, and this cat (though sometimes a bit bitchy) was just really awesome. I know a lot of people don't like talking animals in movies or books and I honestly don't get that; I personally love it when animals talk (I would love for my cats to be able to talk, but then they'd probably be like 'gimme food' all day long).

I liked the story in general, apart from the whole love triangle thingy that I felt coming up. It was very well written, though sometimes the way things were described were a bit over the top in my opinion. But hey, that Nevernever world was probably a bit over the top sometimes.

In the end, I can say that I liked this book, even though the cover said 'The Next Twilight' and even though it felt like TMI; and I will probably read the other three books in this series as well.

I had a hard time with this book in the beginning. The similarities to Alice In Wonderland and The Chronicles of Narnia really bothered me. Once I was able to look past these similarities and see this novel as something of its own, I actually started to enjoy it. I wish that Julie Kagawa had tried a bit harder to make this something completely different. The plot in itself was great and I really liked the main characters, but the first two parts of the book just were not original enough for me. It was just another story of two opposing courts, similar to the red queen and the white queen in Wonderland, and their battles with each other. Meghan Chase even gets to this land through a closet. I just could not get passed the similarities to other popular fantasy stories. However, putting that all aside, I was finally drawn in during part three. I enjoyed the relationship between Meghan and Ash, and I absolutely loved Puck. For those facts alone, I will read the next installment, and I hope that in The Iron Daughter, I will feel like I'm reading something new and not a copy of an already existing story. All in all, the story was interesting, the characters were great, I just don't feel like this was something original and new to read.

I read this in middle school and I really enjoyed reading it, I still enjoy reading it as an adult it has a good story plot that sucks you in from page one. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves reading stories about the Fey.

The Iron Warrior by Julie Kagawa

I am going to tell you a little story. Last year I needed to pick a book to read at school and I didn't know what to read. I usually pick books from my sister book shelf because she used to be a big fan of reading, and then she wasn't. I started off hating reading now I absolutely love it!!! Anyway, my sister gave me like five books. I didn't know what to choose. I narrowed those five books down to 2 books. The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter and the Iron King by Julie Kagawa. I called my mom and told her that I didn't know which one to choose. My mom thought that the Iron King was the best. I am so glad that she picked that because if it wasn't for that then I would have never gotten into the world of the fey. 

I absolutley love this book series. I feel so sad to see it end. This is a book series that I would read again in a couple years because it is so damn good. 

The Iron Warrior had everything that I have ever wanted in a book: romance, adventure, and sacrifice. I loved every single moment of this book and I hope ya'll do to.

5/5 stars: read it you must. One of my favorite book series!!!

The reason for me giving this book two stars is my dislike of the main character, Meghan. She annoyed me for the majority of the book and I saw nothing remarkable about her. I immediatley questioned her judgement when she fell for the most attractive and popular guy at school. She was said to be fiesty and strong but I did not really see that. I also thought the romance was terribly developed there was no build up whatsoever.

If you have never read a fey/fairy novel, I would not recommend you make this your first. The "rules of fairy" are not clearly establishedand that was a bit annoying. But if you are familiar with the fey, you will still be annoyed because the Meghan does EVERYTHING that the "fey rules" go against. 

Little things also grated my nerves, like Meghan describing her brother as looking "somber" and "wiser than his years" over and over again. We get the point already
Despite all my complaing, I do plan on reading the rest of the series. The end left me wondering what would happen next.
