The Legends of River Song
Reviews

A delightful collection of stories about River Song by different authors. They get her voice & humor down very well and it was an enjoyable quick read.

I absolutely loved this. River is my favorite character besides the doctor so of course, I would love this. All of the stories were great but there was definitely some ones that stood out.

I feel like if I was in my doctor who feels I would’ve enjoyed this more. it’s been years since i’ve watched an ep. that dragon in story one was lit tho.

Short story compilations are hard to review. I think that if I had gotten the book on sale I would have liked it better. The problem is that the authors don't seem to have River's voice down, or they wrote it in first person and seemed to ruin the effect for me. They aren't bad stories, I just didn't feel compelled to read them. River is one of my favorite characters so it makes me biased in how successful they could be.

I loved this book. It is definitely written for Whovians and well written at that. Even though each story is written by a different author there is a consistent voice throughout for River, one of my favorite characters. (Her father, Rory, is my favorite character. Hands down.) All of the actions for the characters were entirely believable except for one tiny bit in the first story about River trying to build up the courage (but failing) to ask the Doctor about possibly having a baby with her. I just do not see River Song ever asking that of the Doctor. The rest of that story, and all the other stories in the collection, stick well with character and are quite enjoyable. One can always do with more Doctor Who. I strongly recommend this book to any Whovian. (If you are not a Whovian or have never seen Doctor Who, I strongly recommend - just short of insist - that you introduce yourself to this magnificent show. You won't regret it.)

Loved it, they really captured River Song's personality.
