Literally better than the series XP (and why do I ship John and Violet)

Trenton Lee Stewart has done it again! His books about brilliant kids, and how they grow emotionally are great reads for kids and adults. I enjoyed this prequel as much as the original Mysterious Benedict series.

Okay okay wait let me calm down and think clearly. This was amazing. I enjoyed it more than all the other books about Reynie, Kate, Sticky and Constance! It was better than all three of those put together! IT WAS AMAZING I TELL YOU! AMAZING! Whew... I clearly did not calm down. I love how Nicholas thinks. I love how he's so smart and can get me to think like him for just a second. I love how he's literally a genius at the tender age of 9 years old. If I could choose one book character to meet for a day, I'd probably choose the young Nicholas Benedict. I love how action packed this book is (not that the others weren't), and I loved each and every character from Vern to Gertrude to Nicholas to the Spiders (eh, not so much) to Violet to John to Mr. Collum... The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict is extraordinary.

In the beginning I was sad that this wasn't a story about the MBS, but I ended up really loving the book. Young Nicholas has personality traits of all 4 members of the MBS which is really cute. The book is a good mix of mystery, fun, family, and scary

What a lovely, nostalgic book. It reminded me of the childhood books I used to read, and I went through this book very quickly as I could not put it down. The author writes in an old-fashioned way, which works perfectly for this story.
