Une jeunesse au Moyen-Orient (1985-1987)

Another great one from the series “The Arab of the Future”. In my review of the first book I wrote that I wasn’t sure if this was orientalist or not. Reading the third book, I am convinced that it is not orientalist at all it is genuine observations of a kid. We must always remember that it is not Riad Sattaouf as an adult but it is Riad as a kid telling these stories. It is so very refreshing to see observations as such.
