I had high expectations for this series when I read the first book, Unspoken. The second book in the series, Untold, was disappointing, but I still held hope that the third book would be able to make up for that. Instead the opposite happened. Everything that I initially liked about the series was obliterated, and all that was left was sludge. The series devolved into an angsty, utterly predictable snorefest. 

Gone was the witty banter. It was replaced by too many tacky one-liner jokes. It was far worse that a bad open mike night at a comedy club. No, this was more like being stuck at a lame party where a bunch of drunk people try to start telling jokes as if they were at an open mike night completely obvious to how badly they are flopping. The bad wisecracks might have been tolerable if it had only been one or two characters dropping them, but nearly every character's dialogue was reduced to glib retorts giving the conversations a stilted, unnatural feel. Pretty much the only character not overcome by the Curse of the Joker was Lillian Lynburn which made me enjoy her character worlds more simply because she stood out. The other characters' bad jokes all blended together and made it hard to tell one person from another. They all sounded the same. 
"When I first met you, I thought you were a creep with serious behavioral and emotional issues."

"But once you really got to know me," Jared suggested, "you realized I was a creep with behavioral and emotional issues that were quite funny?"In addition to the bad dialogue, the characters themselves were flat. There is no additional character development. The emotion felt completely contrived. All of it was just too unbelievable. So by the end, I really did not care about the outcome of the plot or the characters. It was sloppy.

What I mentioned liking in Unspoken about discussing racial tension and finding your identity... gone. And replaced by typical, pathetic teenage whining. 

The Gothic atmosphere? Gone. Replaced by cheesy, standard YA overly-simplistic writing.

Whereas the series started with Kami having good parents who are actually involved in their kids life, in this book that has went away. This is absentee parenting at its worst. All of the adults are either dead, brainwashed, or utterly useless. So naturally it is left to teenagers to save the day in as ridiculous fashion as possible.

And the series still never felt British. 

Basically, it sucked. Way to take a promising start and burn it to the ground, Brennan. Way to go.

P.S. Thank God I did not read the stupid little in-between novel things she published! Those are a huge pet-peeve of mine.

Son mas bien 2.5 estrellas y no porque sea un mal libro sino que en comparación a Unspoken y Untold me pareció muy débil y el final de una trilogía no debería serlo. Me aburrí y en algunos capítulos todo pasaba demasiado rápido para entender o emocionarte. Tenía muchas expectativas y no se cumplieron :(

better than the second book but miracle did not happen - the author lost the plot after the first book and did not find it. things are kind of chaotic, many events and conversations are there with no much reason

what i missed mostly is a proper description of sorcery details. i didn't quite understand what they could do and what they couldn't, there was no part where anybody would learn how to use the power (well, there was a small piece where couple of characters were training but it's not the same)

and killing one of the characters at the end was unexpected and sad. it's like the author just decided to do it to make her book darker. i saw no reason to do that

I'm not really that into the whole tortured YA romance thing or particularly invested in the plot but I love Angela, Holly, and Lillian.

Magic, love, hope, death and hurt, so much hurt. This book offered them all to me. It warmed my heart, broke it, then warmed it again, though not quite managing to mend it, as I shall always remain heartbroken by the most definitely untimely death of my most sassy love. But it wasn't anything, if not a tremendous, exciting,bumpy ride. Beautiful conclusion to an amazing series.

Un finale entusiasmante, su questo non ci sono dubbi! Adoro il modo in cui l'autrice ci rivela tutti i misteri che ci hanno tenuti col fiato sospeso per l'intera durata della serie :).
Avrei preferito che la battaglia contro Rob Lynburn fosse descritta un pochino meglio, mi riferisco alla parte finale. Non ho potuto fare a meno di pensare che, visto che si è risolto tutti in una manciata di pagine, perchè non sono riusciti a distruggerlo prima? Questo dimostra che non era poi così potente?
A parte questo, ho adorato anche questo capitolo finale della serie! Molto ben scritta e ricca di colpi di scena, si merita di diritto un posto tra le mie serie preferite ;).
