A Novel

When I started this book it was for a class, and I was told to prepare myself; this (supposedly) was the hardest book of the term. Yet I flew threw the first half of the 400-ish page novel and thought well it's definitely better than a few other books we had read. And then about halfway through the book just died. It lost all driving power and interest, the main narrator disappeared for over a hundred pages, conversations lasted for 50, and the whole thing just draaaagged. Overall it wasn't terrible, the last chapter kind of got back to the level of energy I experienced in the first few, but this is not light reading. I'm glad I had to read this for a class because I think ultimately it was worth it, but I would never have finished it if not for that.
