I wanted to love it even more than I did. I just think that Doescher could only do so much with the plot, that even his brilliant additions of Jar Jar being a buffoon on purpose and some of the added favor scenes could not fix the issues of the original work. I just found myself looking away or being distracted more times than I wanted. And I think it's wholly on the Phantom Menace itself than anything Doescher accomplished. He did some great stuff.
