I love with the complexities of this journey. Arizona is such a strong headed MC, that faces things no one should be up against. There were points where I wanted to scream, go to the police! But then I would remind myself, she's a 17 year old math genius. Asking for help is basically not going to happen.

I felt optimistic throughout the story, which is weird because usually these types of thrillers have me riddled with anxiety. The journey was really more than solving the problem at hand, Arizona does a lot of personal growth as well. She is well aware of her unique quirks, and really comes to the realization of some pretty deep topics about herself.

I'm so glad the ending unfolded the way it did, I had my suspicions about everyone that Arizona comes into contact with. Who were these people, what were their intentions! But the wrap up is lovely. It's the right amount of suspense, mixed with wrapping up loose ends. My anxious soul loved it.

Honestly the cover doesn't do it justice, it's very much a young adult, quest story, mixed with found friends, overcoming mental obstacles, and family loss. Dump in a splash of kidnapping, hostage situation, and the movie National Treasure.

If you enjoy history, books with puzzles, and self discovery, you're going to love this one.
