Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way…with fists and beer. Usually in that order.



Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Now she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of.



There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble he can leave her alone and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.



At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns to real danger.

I KNOW I COULD HAVE LOVED YOU BUT YOU WOULD NOT LET ME

I nodded. "Yeah. Okay. Naomi?" She stopped at the door and looked back. 

“Do you think if we would have carried on... I mean, if we hadn't called it off, is it possble that you would have..." I couldnt ger the words out. They clogged my throat and closed it up.

  "Yeah," she said with a sad smile that had my insides churning.

"How do you know?" I demanded, my voice a rasp. 

And with that, she walked out of my office.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked, gathering her against me again. "I can't be who you want me to be. But I can't let you go."

My lips quirked. “Does this mean youd be willing to stay on? Customers love you. Staff loves you. And the boss is pretty damn fond of you." 

I was more than fond of her. Holding her like this. Talking to her like this. Something was happening in my chest, and it felt like fireworks.

Once again, I hadn't been enough to make someone I loved want to go on.

I clenched my jaw. "Get your tables sorted. Youre on break in fifteen. My office." 

  "Yeah, okay,” she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

"If youre not in my office in fifteen, I will come out here, throw you over my shoulder, and carry your ass back there." 

I leaned in closer, almost close enough to kiss her. "And there is no way that skirt of yours is up for that." 

I felt her shiver against me when my lips brushed her ear. 

"Fifteen minutes, Naomi," I said and left her standing there.

She hadn't seen me yet, so I stood there looking my fill, my body tense with the need to touch her.

"What color is your nail polish?" I asked.

I could feel him watching me. His gaze had a weight and temperature to it.

I could practically feel him skimming me from head to toe. 

Mistakes were meant to be learned from, overcome.

"Because sometimes people don't know how to ask for what they really need.”

“You get to decide how you show up in this world.

 No one else gets to dictate to you who you are" 

"You're the one who has to live your life. Don't apologize to other people for the decisions you make for yourself"

“... Don't ever let a man you don't like make decisions for you."

Knox Morgan wasnt the kind of man you got over. Ever.

Just hearing his name was a jagged splinter in my heart.

"It's just that life is so much harder than I thought it would be," I confessed. "I thought ifI had a plan and followed the rules, it would be easy."

Was there someone out there who would find me to be enough? Not too much or too little, but the person they’d been waiting for their whole life.

  "You know what they say about   ‘fine'-fucked up, insecure,   neurotic, and emotional.”

Nour

The book was an easy, light read perfect for a beach day, but not a 5 star for me. It felt too long and the narrative between the main characters kept getting weird. There were too many characters and too many side stories, I kind of struggled to finish the whole book.

This book was amazing! I love a dual pov!! This was written beautifully omg! So many things were going on in this book but it was so easy to follow which I was obsessed with. Watching / reading about how Naomi breaks down Knox’s walls was so interesting and cuteeeeee!! I’m on my way to read the other two 🙈

This was my First Lucy Score book and I have to admit that I went in to this one blind without really know much about this book and I think that I may be enjoyed this one because of going in blind and not knowing what to expect, The only thing I had to go off was that a couple of friends have read this one and enjoyed and had recommended this one to me.  

Naomi comes to the small town of Knockemout after leaving her fiancée at the alter and to come help her twin sister Tina. When she gets to town, she realises her sister had caused all kinds of hell in town and has a bad reputation. In fact, she is thought to be her sister when she goes to the local cafe and Knox Morgan shows up to “escort” her out of town. The couple are thrown together, and Naomi realizes that she has an eleven-year-old niece that she knew nothing about which ties her to the small town.

Setting aside the romance side of the book the overall plot of Naomi and her family drama was so entertaining and interesting to follow and same as the mystery going on as well it really kept me hooked to this book and wanting to pick this up once I had put it down. Despite this being my first Score book I know that I will be back as I loved the writing style it’s an easy read; despite the heavy topics within the book itself

Overall, I loved this book and am so excited to continue this series with Nash’s book!! Definitely should’ve picked it up sooner as well!!

This was my First Lucy Score book and I have to admit that I went in to this one blind without really know much about this book and I think that I may be enjoyed this one because of going in blind and not knowing what to expect, The only thing I had to go off was that a couple of friends have read this one and enjoyed and had recommended this one to me.

I wanna start by saying will Knox Morgan marry me, please?! I am so in love with him it’s an obsession at this point. He’s everything I want and the fact that he’s fictional should be a crime. Also my second Lucy Score book and she’s one of my favorite authors now.

The way he loved Naomi had me giggling and kicking my feet. They didn’t have to admit it but I knew from the beginning how in love they were with each other. The way he loved Waylay too melted my heart. He took such good care of Waylay and treated her like his own. When he was first introduced I laughed because he and I are the same we love our sleep and don’t like it when it’s disturbed. His and Naomi’s banter was everything. <3

Naomi man I love her so much! Not only did she try and help her sister (screw you Tina I’m still mad at you) but she took in Waylay without even really second-guessing it much. That instantly made me love her. She was such a good role model for Waylay and did her best to guide her.

Waylon and Waylay were probably my favorite characters though they were just cute and I loved them lol. But a little spoiler when Waylay called Knox dad at the end of the book in the epilogue I sobbed so hard!! It made me so happy 🥺

I didn't necessarily hate it. Knox just kinda gave me the ick, later on it wasn't so bad because he started to act his age. Besides that, I was vibin' for the most part, just not a book I'm absolutely in love with. I did however love Naomi and Waylay.

Love the sexual tension in these books, I’m waiting on on book three to see what up with Lucian. He’s always intrigue me the other two books.

You know what? I ate this up and left no crumbs. In fact, I licked my lips clean of this. I barely started it the first day and devoured it the second. DEVOURED. This is a book that is over 500 pages, everybody.

I don’t know why I ever try ignoring the fact that romance books are elite and have me giggling to the point of a doctor from a couple centuries ago sending me to like Scotland to cure my hysteria. It’s that bad.

Anyways, grumpy x sunshine, fake dating, small-town romance, a tiny bit of enemies to lovers, etc. You know the drill. We all do.

(also: the fact that this is a series means I’ll get to read about Lucian and I don’t know what to do with that information except asDFGHJKLAYFAYOACZBKW)

Honestly, this book kind of intimidated me at first as it’s a 500 page romance book. However, I can’t express how much I love this book. I fell in love with all of the characters and loved how everyone became one big, happy family. This book was a story about romance and friendship and how it’s okay to put yourself first. It’s also about how it’s okay to be afraid of losing someone but not letting that get in the way of loving your person. This book made me feel so many things and I’m so grateful for that.

I was so excited to read this book and I’ve hear that it’s such a good book and I gotta agree with everyone that says it. I love this book so much.

The small town gossip, the romance, the lightness to the spice and thrill of this story. It was an easy read and all characters are described with great by Lucy. I felt like I was in the small town with all the characters, it’s a book that just sucks you in.

The characters were beautifully written, and the relationships between them is what set this story apart for me! Lucy Score pays so much attention to the subconscious reactions between characters which really adds deeper emotion and realism. 

The level of wholesome family vibes in this book is unmatched. Please if you want a book that's going to make you smile every other page, read this. And the comedy?! I genuinely laughed out loud at least once every chapter.

Also the smash levels. Lucian, Knox, Nash...always lot's to think about. The spicy scenes were fun, detailed and actually added to the story. However the use of sentences such as "long thick weapon of mass destruction" had me closing the book and missing the person I was before I read it.

That being said, the amount of life changing quotes I read in this book (especially from Knox) thank you Lucy Score.

4.5 stars because Knox was unnecessarily mean? There didn't really seem to be a reason for his actions at the start of the book, couldn't get over this despite how hot he was throughout. Also a lot of character relationships yet to be explored, which I didn't want to have to wait for individual books for, but they'll be fun to read nevertheless.

this was so entertaining like was it the an amazon book? no, but was i eating up every single word? absolutely. the ending was a little corny for me and that’s what docked it to a 4.
