I’m drawn primarily to beautifully written, character-driven literary fiction that explores what makes a life meaningful. I especially enjoy books about ordinary people, human relationships, impermanence, mortality, moral complexity, and how we learn to live with things we cannot control. I like thoughtful, philosophical books that give me something to reflect on long after I finish them. I value emotional depth but prefer subtlety and earned relationships over sentimentality or melodrama. I also enjoy some science-related books, particularly those exploring consciousness, as well as books on Buddhist philosophy and meditation. Occasionally, I enjoy speculative fiction when its premise raises interesting philosophical questions.
