Chloe Hilliard is smart, honest, and funny.  Exactly the kind of person I want to hang out with - or listen to on my commute.

In this (sometimes hilarious) book, Chloé touched on more than just issues regarding one's diet. She did not hold back when telling readers about her experience growing up as a big kid, or the times when she was looked down because of her size or skin color, or the sexual assaults. It's honestly more than what I expected when picking up this book. 

On the topic of diet, the book emphasizes the flaws in the American food system that makes it difficult for people to maintain a healthy weight, a healthy body. These are the things that you may already be used to since a young age if you grow up in the U.S., such as eating sugary cereals for breakfast. We can't change it before we even realize it's a problem that needs to be addressed.

The book also delves into race and Chloé's experience of going through life as a Black woman. Her stories are interesting, and I can still learn a lot from the facts and statistics that she includes in the book. However, one thing that bothers me when reading this book is the extra content that is not really related to what the title and cover suggest - diet and body image, at least in my opinion. Although I appreciate the lessons on racism in the United States - it is indeed a problem, including it everywhere when talking about other topics can make the book feel heavier than it needs to be.
