in a world of boys, hes a GENTLEMAN!! And the MAN DANIEL IS!!! ugh i love him the very first chapter i met him! he’s such a golden retriever boyfriend and the way he loves alexis HE FALLS FIRST AND FALLS HARDER

alexis’s character realization was one of my favorite moments in the book where after spending time with daniel and the people of the small town, she realizes how truly privileged her life is. i feel like i have read many books with rich people and that’s cool but its refreshing to read about a character of privilege/wealth have this moment where she would recognize and appreciate the hard work that service workers/working class do which leads to her epiphany to do more meaningful work to serve the low-income community. I love the character development of it all

the conversation of domestic violence in all forms (physical, emotional, verbal) and the mention of battered women’s syndrome was very important! also the importance of therapy!

even though alexis and daniel are both the main successors to their own family legacies, they are still worlds apart from each other. omg I just realized the juxtapositional tones whenever we’re in alexis’s pov vs daniel’s pov wow

overall, this was an angsty romcom yet still emotional and impactful! THE DUALITY

the ending was perfect - in hannah montana's words the best of both worlds ;)

This was very sweet and Daniel is a top-tier book boyfriend for sure. For a romance novel though, I didn’t expect quite so many fade to black scenes which I found to be a little annoying actually. Also, while I understand what it is to be emotionally abused, I find it shocking that her therapist wouldn’t have mentioned the ways in which the FMC’s parents abused her. Overall, very cute small town romance that threaded serious topics very well.

I love a great contemporary romance book with a good amount of humour. Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez was just that! What happens when a big town doctor falls in love with a small town carpenter? It's like a Hallmark movie but better! And in book form!

Alexis Montgomery is an emergency room doctor who comes from a very well-known family of doctors. She isn't meeting their expectations, but she is still one incredible human. On her way back from a funeral, her car decides to wind up in a ditch. Along comes a handsome man named Daniel Grant who helps her on her way. And by on her way, I mean into his bed before going on her way. These two start to develop feelings and have an emotional roller coaster of fun, friendship, and romance. The country boy meets city girl trope is here, and BOY is it great! There's drama in knowing her family doesn't approve, but you just want them to end up together. It's like a fairy tale in real life!

This book is fun, fast paced, and really engaging. I didn't want to put it down, but knew I had to go to sleep at some point. There's laughs and cries, smiles and pouts, and a cute baby goat! I felt my heart melt and at other times I wanted to beat the crap out of some of the characters. Abby Jimenez does an excellent job of inputting a lot of heart and character development into this book. I will absolutely be picking up more books by this author, and there's even a sequel with Alexis' best friend named Bri getting her time to shine! I'm thrilled!

Five out of five stars! Exactly my kind of book!

Awww this was absolutely adorable, such a sweet, romantic, hopeful story. Alexis and Daniel come from two very different worlds, Alexis comes from a super wealthy medical legacy and Daniel comes from a small town community legacy, both have expectations and duties to uphold - but is there a way that they can merge their worlds and be together or will they need to give up on the greatest love story they've ever experienced? Honestly, this book was pretty predictable, I guessed exactly how it would end within the first handful of chapters and I was spot on, so this book is definitely for people wanting escapism and easy entertainment, some fun, feelgood fluff. But that's not to say this book isn't worth reading, because it absolutely is.

There were points I was actually laughing out loud which doesn't happen often for me while reading books, I usually only give a little huff of breath at a funny comment but this book genuinely had moments that truly make the comedy part of romcom. The squirrel scene in the B&B was great, the running inside joke about betting $100 on parts of their relationship was so sweet and the banter and chemistry between the two main characters felt very real. There was, of course, a level of disbelief about this story too, Alexis is this incredibly smart woman, a doctor set to become the chief of her practice, PhD holding, multiple degrees and accolades under her belt and yet is unable to do simple things like sweeping and googling how to check her power breaker hasn't been tripped or switched off - which, sure, I can imagine the Kardashian's of the world may have never made a bed or cooked their own quiche but I think maybe this trope was taken just a little bit too far. It's hard to imagine an ER doctor, who, despite her nepotism, would still have had to do 

 hard grunt work during her learning, was that useless.

This meant that Daniel came across as they ever perfect knight in shining armor who the FMC suddenly can't live without, kind of destroying the image of strong, assured 37 year old woman that was built up at the beginning. Honestly, I think, if she'd been written as closer to Daniel's age in this book, then her insecurity and ignorance could've been understandable but I found myself incredibly frustrated at this overdone "rich people are generally useless in real life" story line. Aside from this, I think the story line about the emotional abuse Alexis went through really added to the plot, she was genuinely too busy and too blindsided by growing up under her father's own brand of abuse that she never recognized it. But I do wish she'd been given a bit more credit in other areas.

Definitely one to add to the list for people needing a sweet, cute palette cleanser and a good strong message about doing what's right for you and not trying to please people, especially emotionally abusive, vapid people who are only in your life due to circumstance rather than choice.

Also, all it took was Bri telling Alexis to rearrange her priorities for Alexis to change everything. That took a little too long for me. I’m not the biggest fan of the “third act breakup” and this didn’t do it for me either, mostly because it didn’t seem like there was going to be a break up and then there was.

I thought the discussions of emotional and physical abuse were done well. They weren’t too heavy that the book was too much to handle, but they were powerful enough to make you think about those situations.
