Gabe is having diffculty with my shirt. "I just... these fucking. . . goddamn buttons," he mutters, 

His palm is frm on my back, holding me there, and I think of how he dipped me in the club, how I trusted him then and how I have to trust him now. Trust that he won't drop me. 

"I want you," Gabe says. "I've wanted you. Since the frst mo- ment." It's so simple and direct. 

omg this is so chris evans. i’m so surprised she captured his essence so well 

messages that were surprisingly devoid of acronyms or texting slang. Apparently, Gabe Parker preferred a full-sentence text. 

“I could make you happy." he says. I swallow. Hard. "Yeah?" I ask. "Yeah," he says. "Show me," I say.

"You go to rage first," she's told me. "It's your safe place when emotions are high." If that's true then it makes sense. 

chris evans has a GREAT laugh like i need his laugh injected into my veins. 

He laughed. It was a great laugh, all low and dark and rich. If chocolate cake had a laugh, it would be that. 

"The biggest challenge with a role like this is doing it even when you know you don't deserve it." b

"I did my research too," he said. "Both of your parents are teachers. You have a younger brother and a younger sister. They all live locally. You usually have Shabbat dinner with them. You went to Sarah Lawrence for undergrad, lowa for grad school. You met your boyfriend there. In the campus bookstore." 

His back was incredible. All smooth muscles and sleek lines. I wanted to stand behind him, wrap my arms around his waist, and press my cheek against one of his shoulder blades. The desire to do so was so strong that I could practically feel his hot skin against my face. Or maybe that was just because my own skin felt warm. Very warm.

 "Has anyone ever told you that you kind of look like one of those cat clock things?” 

It was exactly the kind of Laurel Canyon home where you could easily imagine the Mamas and the Papas or Fleetwood Mac doing drugs, having sex, and making music during the seventies. 

I had zero chill when it came to Gabe Parker.

so cliche and ridiculous (these people knew each other for a weekend 10 years ago!!) but i had fun. the ending was very rushed though and i felt like for all the stuff that they needed to make sense of more time was needed but i can suspend my disbelief
also personally dont see how anyone would be swayed to accept gabe in the role of bond after that article

I was kinda scared to read this book, because people were comparing it to Emily Henry books, which I love with my whole heart. I was surprised because I end up really liking it.

The Now & After chapters, which I'm not the biggest fan of, made me unable to stop reading the book to find out what happened to the characters in the past. Also, the articles between the chapters were amazing, and the story because of them I think was even more entertaining. 

It was my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read her next stories.

A personagem principal vai se tornando muito chata com o passar do tempo, arrumando problema pra tudo. Em 90 e poucos por cento do livro quando ja ta tudo certo entre ela arruma outro problema.
Me senti desconectada da historia, nao fiquei apegada por nenhum dos personagens e nem sentia que eles dariam certo juntos. Mas é um livro fluido e engraçadinho. Acho que talvez eu teria gostado mais se tivesse lido em um período mais tranquilo da minha vida

Overall a very cute book, loved a lot of this book however some parts felt like they dragged on a bit but a very cute lovey read. A great cleanser if you’re coming off a very sad or intense book. Also highly recommend reading along with the audio book, made it better for me!

things don’t usually go the way we planned but as what gabe parker said, what’s the worst thing that could happen? it gave different perspectives on how we could face rejection, criticism, as well as our own fears. the amount of tension between the two main characters had me hooked on every page.

The book was nothing no story just comedy that’s it! I had higher expectations cuz of booktok but I’m now highly disappointed the book has no storyline nothing just to ppl venting

The premise of the story was really cool; however, the execution really fell really flat for me.. it’s just the connection between them didn’t have much development that they would still be in love with each other after 10 years?! and the book really dragged that even though I was enjoying it at the beginning,it just got boring..
However Chani and Gabe had their really cute moments! I’m always a sucker for second chance romances with then/now chapters.. I really love Gabe (he’s the definition of a mirrorball character) and I would’ve loved getting his pov about how he felt for Chani during the interview, and his addiction and family..

I can so Image this being a 2000 romcom movie. It really is the slowest of slow burns but I guess worth the wait. It doesn’t give the sparkly, sweet romance vibes - it’s grown up and realistic - so not the kind of romance book I would die for but still pretty pretty amazing
