Wounded Little Gods is a tale that brings mythology to a sci-fi thriller that's filled with a sense of place--a place where gods are in many ways human and point to the ways in which humans can be inhumane. As Regina struggles to unwind the knots surrounding the mystery of this facility and the people connected to it. She discovers that she is more intertwined in the strange events in her hometown than she ever knew.

I read this in one sitting; it definitely hooked me in from the beginning. It has this slow yet spooky build up that keeps you curious as you go along. I loved the writing and how the individual stories weave together to reveal the bigger picture in the end. This is just a novella, but the themes and the storytelling were so good, I swear. We explore humanity, conscience, and difficult family dynamics on top of reading about a fictional world built on Philippine history and mythology where the gods and spirits still walk among us.
